I bet divekick is on Saturday :DOGE
According to the schedule Divekick starts on Friday.

Benefit of the new schedule: 5 Injustice pool blocks are being streamed and then finals on Sunday. Finals also aren't till 2. So Injustice has more stream time than Street Fighter pool wise. Its actually tied for 1st place in stream time with Marvel, Project M, and SF overall now that I'm looking at it. That ain't bad.

Also something else that I don't know if it was talked about on here already:

Keits just posted on his Twitter that all games will cap at 128 players. He will not go over that cap, even if you do on-site or emergency registration.

They're not "breaking a contract". Quite the opposite actually. There's a user agreement you check that says you're prepared to play Friday.
Not everyone can just say "Ohhh well I play Friday now I will just go early" people planned around jobs, kids, family, obligations et cetera.

Now... Two weeks before it changed. A nod to the Lack of organization in this community and highlights the need for mlg.

Ur from Chicago so I assume u will back keits with whatever. But this is bullshit. No matter how u try to justify it

Yeah that sucks. Most people can't make it until Saturday. I guess with all the dq's and no shows that will happen we can call this a over glorified weekly.

Matt, you know I'm not some BS guy, but UFGT says very clearly in the sign-up that all players should plan on games starting Friday. You even registered prior to the 1st tentative schedule being out so it must not have been too great concern at the time.

Secondly, you might not even play in a Friday pool. Scheduled pool blocks are blocks that may possibly contain a listed pool. Players should be prepared to be there as early as the first listed pool block, but things may still start later for you, or for the game in general.

As for lack of organization, thats a ridiculous insult and you know it. UFGT is hyper organized, almost to a fault in some cases, and pays more attention to scheduling and brackets than near anyone else (and I say that having worked for near everyone else, including MLG). I recognize that you're having an issue at the potential Friday start time, but all games started on Friday last year too (and the year before that). Starting on Friday is the precedent here, not an exception.

Keits is a reasonable dude, if you really can't make it on Friday email him. Don't come at him with bullshit excuses if you legit can't make it let him know and things will be worked out.

And this is not a last minute announcement, if any of you read the thing you filled out you'd know the schedule was subject to change and things could happen on Friday. And hey @P2W it's because Keits is mad organized that this is happening to best accommodate everyone when they get to the tournament and not have things go stupid. And before you can say some dumb shit I'm not even Chicago.

We've started Friday every year for many years, the tournament has never had more than a 3-4% DQ rate. In fact if I remember correctly last year Injustice only saw 2 DQs total (when it also started on Friday).

You misread the tweet.

UMvCX will cap at 128 players. Don't expect to add it on site or with your emergency reg. http://ufgt.us/
That's the specialty UMvC3 tourney with the character bans that caps at 128, not all games.

All majors start on Fridays, and even some regionals these days. There shouldn't be so much shock here.

Yeah also EC doesn't charge $60 for late registration. Might as well buy a game lol
I'll agree with that. The normal and late registration are in line with other tournaments (West and East) though. So I'm guessing you mean the on-site registration? Keits intentionally (like Larry at Final Round, who prices similarly for Final Round's on-site reg) charges a high amount for at-the-door registration as it potentially creates bracket headaches and event delays.

To be fair, it's not like he's putting all the outcast "shitty" games on Friday. AE, Ultra, and UMvC3 see action on Friday as well.

There seems to be a big pushback against fridays in general, b/c it means taking a full day off work for most people.

Civil War 4/5 Started 6pm Friday, but we changed it to Saturday this year, b/c unless you start Street Fighter, no one will be there.

I'm not a big fan of Friday starts but with the amount of games UFGT runs (like SCR, CEO, etc) it makes sense. Its hard to have the space and equipment needed to run Saturday / Sunday only when trying to serve that many people.

Usually I see 40 or 50 at the door. I guess divekick didn't sell too well and those extra 10 at the door might help boost sales for divekick.
Divekick has nothing to do with UFGT's pricing. Come on man. SCR, CEO, and other events charge $50+ for emergency registration as well.
