I can't get over how amazing of an anti-air his d.H is. Thing smokes out jump-ins like crazy and leads to some pretty raunchy stuff because you can set off so many tech traps on people. d.H and d.H ShaliStomp are pretty sick when you combine them with Ankle Slicer/ f.H as a mix-up as they are standing.

Honestly, at least at my very low level, his anti-air power makes him have at least a semi-decent shot against Sadira whom controls the air pretty well.

I think the key being the low level, cause sadira's that know how to control the air can take advantage of you trying to anti air them with fake crossups, etc.

To be fair, once she bounces off that wall its very hard for her to stop a sammich/shadow sammich

Any updates on anti zoning? Most glacius and jagos are starting to catch on to how easy it is to lame out against thunder. I feel like the mu is still kind of bullshit because once you do manage to get in you have nothing to exploit to stay there. You literally just have to play better with counter/combo breakers.

Against Jago, you can pretty safely Sammich through his fireball at the longer ranges since the only thing he can do to stop you is wind kick which loses out to stomp or the rise itself depending on how early/late, or dash in which won't be fast enough from too far away.

Against glacius, my only recommendation is trying to chase him down with j.H as occasionally you'll trade with him mid-air ala Dhalsim. That's what I've found at least. You can also do EX spinning axe and it'll carry you a decent distance safely with that hit of armor.

Doombawkz lol those aren't options, that's desperation. That's stuff I do now. Play patiently, eat chip. Still, they always seem at advantage
They have projectiles, you don't. Of course they have an advantage from a distance. I bet Glacius players think Thunder has advantage up close because he doesn't give much of an arse about his super armor (EX Ankle slice is a godsend) and eats through his health like bear mutton.

That's not desperation, its just how the match goes. Any way to mitigate those problems should be taken into account. Glacius have started to bring more safe shoulders into their game to mitigate us being in close. Fully effective? Maybe not, but it has its time. I've had a bit of success with the spinning axe one personally.

Against zoning jagos all I can do is be patient and capitalize on any opportunity I get then just try to keep the life lead and make them come to me. Outside of these there aint no great tech as far as I can tell to deal with it.

Glacius who knows what he's doing is a beast to deal with. All I can do is try to cover ground then lock him down.
When they jump back I dash forward then AA (when close I use dp, when far I use c.hp).
When they shatter I reaction dash forward/neutral jump.
Once I get a knockdown I just try to keep on em (late jumps to bait puddle punch, late back jump to punish shoulders)
The ones that know how to use fireballs+limbs well are the ones I can't deal well against.

The thing is we don't have an advantage up close. Also....EX ankle slicer doesn't have armor...does it?

These are the only ones that matter or know the matchup.

We have a pretty big one against Glacius, as I said Jago's zoning really isn't too bad.

EX ankle slicer, depending on the opponent's move, can shave off like 3 hits of armor before his attack comes out. Either that or its online compensation, but I sliced him as he was going for his iceball overhead and it cleaned through his last 2 hits of armor in one swing. We also have access to our own armor in the form of spinning axe, so if he tries to trade in trait it doesn't always work out for him.

His wake-ups are pretty bad too. Not like Sadira bad, but pretty bad.

EDIT: Looking at it, I think it was just online lag compensation. My connection has been iffy lately.

I've had success with resetting wall splat with an immediate crossup.

Is anyone using instinct cancels in their combos? I doubt he needs it, but wanted to check.

does light into heavy command always link? i feel like sometimes it does and some times it doesnt
Comm grab doesn't catch if the opponent is in block stun. Lights are better because of this. The opponent can mash out, but a decent player is usually going to respect the chief.
