okay so vapor has become increasingly popular over the years and i recently in the last 6 months picked up vaping and have been able to quit smoking almost entirely, other than when drinking and there are hot college girls surrounding me smoking and i want to strike up a conversation with them. also, the steam co (who by the way has some awesome flavors) has started having a booth at EC events and ive seen more and more players vaping at every event i go to since they have been there. so i decided to open up a thread dedicated to vaping, recommendations on mods, atomizers, liquids and all sorts of things like that and to ask any general questions about the topic to someone on here, whether you are interested in picking up vaping to quit smoking or you are currently a vapor and want to ask about a mod you are considering investing in or something like that.

anyways im going to start by asking this, what liquid have you been vaping lately and what would you recommend? the past few months ive been vaping almost exclusively steam co and i want to check out some other stuff.

I agree with Pig that this should be banned in public places. Even though it might be nicotine-free but I still wouldn't like smoke being blown in my face thank you.

I agree with Pig that this should be banned in public places. Even though it might be nicotine-free but I still wouldn't like smoke being blown in my face thank you.

The steam goes away really quickly and leaves a nice caramel smell unlike smoking. The steam basically will never reach your face even if the person tried. I'm slowly convincing my dad to quit smoking and he decided to pick up vaping instead. It's been 3 months since he started and never picked up a cigarette since.

its a great tool for quitting smoking. i also just enjoy the various flavors there are and can appreciate it for that. but yeah i do agree that people look kinda stupid vaping. but im the king of looking stupid so its all good.

as for it being banned in public places im not sure about this. i feel like its more so something that should be up to business owners whether or not they allow it in their establishment. i however dont really feel strongly about it. i just find it nice because i dont have to freeze my balls off like i used to have to do when i was still smoking

While you're concern is valid, you only really need to think about what is in them.
Generally, there will be some nicotine, so that is something of a concern, but the amount of nicotine present in 2nd hand smoke has never really been the problem, even with cigarettes. Nicotine on it's own is almost completely harmless, especially in low amounts, and is actually pretty similar to certain neurotransmitters that are naturally present in your body (which is how it functions), much like caffeine. Cigarettes are primarily as harmful as they are because of the smoke produced when they are burned and the slew of additional chemicals that are present.
Aside from that, vape liquid is comprised of food-grade vegetable glycerin (the oil that is burned) and different flavoring chemicals. The oil itself isn't harmful at all, but there is always some concern with flavoring additives because they can tend to be carcinogenic when burned. However, they are present in extremely small quantities.
So, while there is a small chance that complications could arise from 2nd hand vape, it is very small, and nearly non-existent when compared to the risks associated with 2nd hand smoke.
One of the reasons there is a big push against E-cigs right now stems from the lobbying power of the tobacco industry, similarly to when the initial reports of cigarettes causing cancer were squashed a long time ago when they first came out.
I have never smoked and do not vape, but I have no fear and figured I'd share.

I'd rather deal with an enemy I know rather than the one I don't.

I smoke cigarettes and will not quit unless I want to at some point. I tried everything and do not want to quit.

I've seen people who smoked for sixty years who have lungs as clear as a 12 year old.

I've also seen people who never smoke a day in their life develop primary lung cancer.

Approximately 40% of all lung cancer patients never smoked a day nor have they been around people who smoked.

I never see ads on TV criminalizing alcohol which has a higher mortality rate than cigarettes between drunk driving, cirrhosis, liver failure, hepatitis c, chronic renal failure, respiratory failure, etc.

No doubt smoking is bad for you, but don't be so ignorant to think that nothing else will causes the diseases/cancers linked to smoking.

I've seen it all in the ER/ICU/Rotations.

Just be careful with this vaping shit. Twenty years from now it COULD be worse than actually smoking a cigarette. We won't know for decades, just like with cigarettes the full effect of them.

Yeah I've been wondering about the Steam Co. booths. I'm not interested, I don't smoke cigarettes and never have, but I wanna know if they're actually less harmful and if the second-hand vapor is dangerous.

On a related note, I'm gonna give the unpopular opinion that vaping weed is kind of a bill. It's just not the same high, I like smoking so much more. I've used a MFLB and was really unimpressed. I used a Volcano and liked more but not enough to ever buy something that expensive.

just a note, i wouldn't recommend talking about weed on here like that. your tym accounts most likely linked to some form of social media that you wouldn't necessarily want to be available so readily. just a thought.
