With a new Smash game coming out later this year; I thought i would make a thread having to do with everything Smash Bros related. Many of the people on TYM were exposed to the smash community through the Smash documentary (if you haven't watched all of it you need to!)

When Smash 4 comes out later this year i will be playing the game competitively! I thought some of you all will too! Or if you want to just play casually then that is fine too, Share your opinions!

For anyone who plays smash currently (melee, brawl, project m) share your knowledge about the metagame and find people here to play with. Let us know your hopes for the new Smash Bros games coming this summer and winter!

Well........yea I got nothing.

Anyway back to the topic at hand.I play Samus and Roy in Melee and Samus,Pit and Roy in Project M. Gonna play Little Mac in Smash 4........Hey! @Cabronium who do you play and how did you get into Smash?

A fighting game is where opponents beat the shit out of each other in attempts to kill one another, correct? That's precisely the goal of Smash.. so if it isn't a fighting game what is it?

Did you miss the bit where I specifically said "fighting game fundamentals" in the post you quoted? Smash is a fighting game in every sense of the word.

That's cool! I played Mewtwo and roy in melee and marth when i needed to win lol. I play ivysaur in project and not sure who to play in SSB4, greninja looks pretty awesome but there are many more characters to come so we will see! I got into smash when i was like 8 all my friends played it at school so i just fell in love with the game. I kept to playing till i was 15 and went to local and regional tournaments but i wasn't a fan of the way brawl played so i stopped playing . Then when i heard about project M i got back into it but i can only play it like 2 times a week at my friends house because i haven't figured out how to get it on my wii. How did you get into it??

I main Akihiko in persona 4 arena and little Mac is the one character I desperately wanna try out since they both are similar in their playsyle. Prepare for a shitload of greninjas online though he's gonna be overused for the first couple of weeks

It's super easy to load Project M on your Wii. Just first visit their website and follow the instructions.

I myself played Marth and Ice Climbers in Melee and Ivysaur in Project M. Brawl was/is my main Smash game though. I use Diddy, Ice Climbers and Olimar. I've been using them since 2008. Surprisingly now they're all considered to be top tier. I'm such a tier whore ._.

Rosalina just looks way too fun to pass up. The combo potential of Luma looks amazing. I hope hit stun and gravity in this game is more akin to Melee. Brawl (as fun as it is) always feels slightly floaty.

Well long story short: A good high school friend of mines saw me play SF4 a couple of times and wanted to learn,so ask him to teach me Smash and I'll teach him Street Fighter and oh wow playing smash since 8.

Yeah i'm for sure going to be on the greninja banwagon but, I might switch and use a character i'm more comfortable with like marth

I'll probably buy this game I played all of them and I've been playing since the game came out. I still play the original. I never knew there was a big scene for this game competitively until I saw Evo. But when I play, the people I played with/played online I did the best for the majority. I play captain falcon, samus and fox in the original, captain falcon, Marth, Roy, samus, fox, both links, and Ganondork in melee, and captain falcon, fox, sonic, Marth and the other guy from his game (can't remember name ATM), and meta knight. I'll probably play this game competitively, unless of it's a lot like brawl, I wasn't a big fan of brawl but it's still super smash

I must be using the wrong SD card or something i spent like 2 hours trying to do it but no luck. Yeah ivysaur is super good and him being a pokemon makes it better :p I used olimar a little myself. Very strong character.

Ok....ok not exactly,but jesus is that a hard mu and the best part is the one who taught me Smash plays her......:(

It's not just him. Sheik is top tier in melee. Her mobility is so godlike

Tell me about it dude.When(No ifs) he gets in its GGs bro better luck next time.Usually it goes down like this: either I win with one stock left and at 100%+ or he beats with me only taking 1 or 2 stocks off.

I'm surprised C. Falcon hasn't been confirmed yet, I remember he was confirmed really late in Brawl's development.

C. Falcon and Luigi are my mains, easily. I like to play as Samus and Mr. Game & Watch as well.
