They use the Women's Tennis Association to determine everything.

Everyone is so hype about getting something going for seeding. I just like to look at rankings for fun since I'm a stats junky.

Anyway I took the liberty to look at our major tournaments in the ranking like I would look at dieminion or justin wong's tournament rankings for tournaments to see what they are labelled as: For example EVO is rated as a Grand Slam tournament which is worth 2,000 points to the winner and it is the most points you can get in a single tournament. They rate tournaments such as WB or UFGT as a International tournament and winning this is worth 280 points. They label CEO and SCR as Premier 5 tournaments and winning those are worth more than winning a WB.

Anyway it is really neat. As you know I took it upon myself to use some of your favorite players and check where everyone stacks up (including myself of course). I have point numbers for everyone too. Also they use up to top 16 for good accuracy. This system rewards who goes to more tournaments and does well. If you go to a tournament and don't make top 16 you basically missed out on getting points as if you weren't even at the event.

KDZ: 3215 points
Chris G: 2342 points
DJT: 1945 pts
Theo: 1440 pts
Reo: 1309 pts
Perfect Legend: 1260 pts
Rico Suave: 1257 pts
Forever King: 1012 pts
MF Slayer: 915 pts
Sonic Fox: 820 pts
Wound Cowboy: 495 pts
Tom Brady: 485 pts
PPJ: 444 pts
Playing to Win: 369

As you see KDZ has the most points. P2W has the least so far I haven't done anymore this is just for fun obviously. P2w going 0-2 at KiT hurt his points. Also summer jam isn't seen as an international according to world rankings it is a "series" tournament and frosty faustings is a "circuit" which is rated lower than a series. This is why wound's points are so low. King has placed 5th at ufgt, 2nd at sj, 5th at nec, 3rd at scr, 1st at kit. I think 9th at fr? KiT according to the world rankings (just check justin wongs rankings and you will see what a lot of these tournaments are listed as) KIT is a series tournament much like youmacon. This is why they don't give off a lot of points.

Grand Slam gives the most then Premier's the internationals.

Anyway hope you guys enjoy this as much as I enjoyed looking at all this.

For the lazy people who don't want to go look at different players rankings on the SRK ranking I compiled this so you guys can decipher easier:

Grand Slam: Evo
Premier Mandatory:
Premier 5: SCR, CEO
Premier 12: FR, NCR
International: VxG, TFC, NEC, WB, ECT, UFGT, MLG, PU, DFN, apex
Series: Youmacon, SJ, KIT, civil war
Circuit: Frosty

How did u get 1260

Tournaments are different categories for different games. As you can see between AE and KI there is big differences in what they are catagorized as. For example, Tekken at FR could be the highest ranking for the year since it is not at EVO this year. So I think restructuring this for Injustice specifically would drastically change the numbers.

Your system and ranking list isn't much different from mine

Compare it, main thing I do is allocate regional points so EC can't stay in their own backyard for a year

Also I love the 9 month rule

I'm not a fan of the 9th month rule. Don't crucify me for disagreeing lol
I'm not we differ on this

My reasoning is that it promotes complacency and doesn't honor current level of the game. I don't think dizzy is ground around TYM saying he got top 8 at UFGT for example. Most people live in the "Now" and it's better way of ranking IMO

I agree w you on what u say about Evo in the past which is why I agree Evo holds great weight

KDZ will be the most difficult one the pass up obviously and Chris G. Other than that if people don't win they will get passed up soon. But we shouldn't take away from peoples accomplishments.

On a point game like galaga or something where there is a score board. The scoreboard doesn't deter from a players points. Whenever their points are totally surpassed they are moved down and so on until they aren't on the leaderboards anymore. Its kind of the same thing.

Its not just EVO but every tournament. I don't think we should take away from peoples accomplishments. There are some people who haven't won a major tournament in years but used to win a long time ago. Its bad form to say it doesn't mean anything now. If a winner has won before they can win again doesn't matter how much time has elapsed.

I kinda like the galaga reference

Do you think there should be a difference in the 9 month rule between when the game first comes out and a year into the game? Like, there's definitely a difference between 2011-2012 mk9 and 2012-2013 mk9.

Also, @Perfect Legend can you explain how these tournaments are being rated? If you're using the same rating system from SF I don't think it fits into ours.

For example, SCR was definitely not bigger than FR and NEC. VxG DTN and Apex definitely don't outweigh SJ which had ~100 entrants.

And NCR won't even have injustice lolol

I disagree with 9 month rule I feel like everything should be tallied in from the beginning and end of a games life. Unless you do different versions like Street Fighter has SF4, SSF4, SSF4AE, SSF4AE2012 and USF4. For example 2011 was year of SSF4AE and Fuudo was ranked #1. Daigo was ranked #1 for SF4 and SSF4 cause he won evo in both and the most tournaments. SSF4AE2012 is infiltration cause he won evo in 2012, the 25 anniversary tourney and he got top 8 at evo this year. He is still #1 in the world rankings.

Well thing is I'm not going by any set of how many people entered or anything. I am 100% going by what they put so however prestigious the event is its up to the players to show up and reinforce that prestige. That is how I look at it anyway. I'm not adding or altering anything cause then I would be doing stuff based off my own opinion and that would screw things up. Rankings have to be 100% off already set guidelines and statistical categories. Me nor anyone else I feel is in a position to change anything.
