What's new

We have an online mode that's better than MK9. When are we actually going to use it right?

When people would complain about stuff being a block infinite online, I took it for granted. I thought they were just salty and making excuses. But they're not. There is one really annoying "weakness" that I have online. When someone does a string/move that goes from high to low I can't seem to transition from stand blocking to crouch and get hit. Harley ji2 into b2 was guaranteed on me. Like if I ducked any faster I'd get hit by the damn jump in. Strings with delays on the transition I could block though. It's really frustrating though.

That's fucked up, just because quark is a not a top player (on this side of the ocean) you won't give him the time of day (or night in his timezone) the hypocrisy is strong!! @Noobe Don't give brady anymore games until he does a first to 100 with qwark!!!!
Actually, I stay up late often because my timezone just doesn't have top players logging in anywhere near less than 1-2 AM.

There's too much variability.

I can play someone on Monday and have an amazing connection.
Then it's...
Laggy on Tuesday.
Grew worse on Wednesday.
Better on Thursday.
Perfect by Friday.
Broken that Saturday.
Off the Friends list by Sunday.
Try using a different chain.

netcode is still ass...
yes while the net code is ass its still a teaching tool helping with match ups and just over all experience with a character that might not be found in your local scene. not to mention online warriors have been doing well as of late at tournaments such as murk hell even Big D was and still kinda is a online warrior

Shoot them. Shoot them all.
With all due respect, I sometimes think this whole notion of, "Ugh, the top/popular players wont give me any games!!", is sometimes just in their heads.

-Theo has given me several sets both pre and post Evo.
-M2Dave has played me a lot, always nice and up for sets.
-Tom has given me a long set, after he invited me first.
-Noobe added me on PSN wanting to run the DD vs KF mu, and has consistently offered more
-Pig has always sent those stealth invites, lol ;)

I just think if you are new or inexperienced and truly wanting online sets with these gentleman, just try to arrange or plan a time with them. I have YET to run into a top player diva who has said no or hasn't already asked me for sets.

I need to get some KF practice with you.

Also, I personally can say I haven't run into anyone that has acted like a top player diva in Injustice (only dealt with that shit in Brawl), especially when I went to Chicago and got to play with 16 bit, Pimpimjim, and Saucy Jack for some match ups that opened my eyes on what I've been missing out, especially Catwoman. Unfortunately, I would have to drive another 5 hours to be able to do it again, but those guys were very willing to help and offer advice especially to people who are either new or just don't have that character experience in their area.

I agree,

I'm not top or anything, but have a hard time getting sets in with people. Either I beat them and they quit, or I lost 7 outta 10 and they quit because they feel they are done with me maybe?? I dunno.

Arrow struggles online, but it's still fun, and there is lots to learn.

I prefer xbox over psn, it's much more playable, I have both, and if anyone ever wants games i play 5 diff characters

add me

Jimmypotato on both systems, if you see me on hit me up.

i never said that.

you have ZERO bars with me. As PL said, online can be very VERY hard when it comes to stopping certain things. I dont want to stick it out in an ok connection. Just because "other players do it" doesnt mean I want to. If something is very good then I'll play in it, I will not play in a connection thats just ok. Doing that gives you terrible habits.

@DarthArma LOL bro.. I have DD down pretty well. Went 5-4 vs Noobe at FR. I played Qwark at least 50 or more games once. I have no problem playing him, but not when im working on other things atm. if im in practice working on finding new tech vs other characters then i'm not joining any session. If im in a session working on a mu then im not going to leave to play another session. Everyone seems to want to play all at once all of a sudden. I'm one man, cant play 20 ppl at once.

I got games with Tom Brady for the first time a couple days ago, and I'm just an online warrior. However, @DarthArma promised he wouldn't forget me.... but I'm still just sitting here, Waiting. Maybe one day he'll come...
Arma always used to play me and im a relative nobody.

Also if you want to get games with top players stop by the TYM chatroom and ask, there are a lot of top players that lurk in there and will play if you ask.

Also, I think a lot of offline exclusive players tend to ~~confuse~~ some of us tournament-goers who have no scene and truly use online for MU exp/ practice, with LEGIT online warriors who are OBSESSED with the leader boards and shit.

I have a wired connection and when I play other members from this site with a wired connection, it's crisp and sometimes there isn't a hint of lag. I have a set standard for which I judge a connection:
1.) If I can land three consecutive U3's with KF with ease.
2.) If I can punish a blocked air gun shot from Harley at sweep distance.
3.)If I can back dash a blocked J2 from CW.
4.) If I can parry after GL's B1.

If I can do any of these 4 criteria, I will be satisfied. Plus no one really wins using these alleged "online tactics", lol.

I don't think there's anyone I wanted to play that I haven't played -- but I will say, social skills help with being a part of any community. If people think you're going to blow them up, brag about the fact that you beat them endlessly, post videos when the match goes in your favor, etc., then they're less likely to want to play you.

Also if you don't know how to respect people's contact info without harrassing/pestering them, it's unlikely that they're going to want to deal with you.

As a lead mod and editor I get asked to do a ton of things each day, and I don't have time to do them all; when someone takes that personally instead of being gracious about the fact that you're busy, it makes you less likely to bend over backwards for them in the future. Likewise any player that's getting hit up by 50 people a day for matches isn't going to be able to play everybody. So if you want games, you need to learn to be patient and catch people at the right time.

Online is different from offline with every fighter I've ever played, but I will say Injustice I get disconnected a hell of a lot less then MK9. :( It's on reason in any game(doesn't matter to me) I dont play overseas people, no point since the lag sucks.
