and also that he presumably had something else going on outside the tournament that had him upset before he even set foot in the venue.
This.

Tri-Force explained on EventHubs that he had some personal stuff going on that was probably the biggest factor to his outburst.

Like everyone on the planet (aside from Sanford), I obviously love this.

One question, though - why was Sanford so salty? Seems like Rico made some good reads and just flat out won the match. The stare at the end was awkward. It's like a "Do you know who I am and what you've done? How DARE you beat me." Seemed weird.
It's not a pride thing, it's not an ego thing, it's not about the other guy at all really.

The truth is simple
It hurts to lose.

You put so much work and preparation into something and you just barely come up short. No one is going to care how close the game was, no one is going to give a shit about what matchup it was, All that matters is if you won or lost. Anyone who goes to a tournament knows that and it's something that will always be in the back of your head. So to see it slip through your fingers just barely is really rough if your passionate about what you do.

Same thing happened to me in the losers final of my KI pool.
Guy won the set 3-2 on a sliver of life time out. Walking out of the room all I could think about was putting my fist through the hotel lobby wall. I wasn't thinking clearly at all and didn't come back down to earth for hours.

It's something a lot of guys struggle with and a bad habbit that can be very expensive, lol.

Yeah I quit breaking controllers on about my 3rd or 4th ps3 pad.

Now I kind of feel like a dick.... lol
Which is understandable.

But still, it is entirely up to Sanford to control himself. If there's some sort of outside element that's affecting his mood, perhaps it's not wise to play something that runs the risk of pissing you off?

Just my two cents.

WAR SEASON "THE WEAK EXPOSED!"
I seen this live and omg. Funny af, I think Sanford staring Rico down was almost funnier than him breakin the stick. Rico looked soooo awkward. Omg that shit was gold tho.

Sorry if Sanford is going thru personal business, but breaking his stick is just retardedly funny.

Rico looked back at him like, "Motherfucker, I DARE YOU."

Sanford going through "real life" problems is obviously not cool... Hope things work out for him

BUT

There is NO way the Stream Monsters or even anyone at NLBC or Rico or whoever would know in advance that Sanford is going through problems and what not ...

And to see a guy take his stick after a loss and
literally treat it like Shawn Kemp treats basketballs... Sorry but its PURE COMEDY.
