BluPlanet Kombat weekly now $10 entry fee

Some people may ask "Why is it now $10 instead of $5 or just flat out free entry?"..

LBSH.. It isnt cheap to make it out to some of the locals. Gas, tolls, train, etc etc.. It adds up..

Top players realize that when they lose, they are going to go home having lost money and are usually ok with that. What they aren't ok with is winning and STILL losing money every week. It puts you in a lose/lose situation where you would rather not attend. $10 entry fee allows top 2 maybe even top 3 to at least have a shot at winning they're travel costs.

The plus side to BPK is that its more then just a tournament. In fact, the tournament is just a small portion. Players can get 4+ hours of casuals and really level up their game.

I'm going to start attending this event every time I can and I like to see other guys in the tri-state area start coming out as well.

If you don't reside close to the event, I can see how it can add up. For me the most valuable commodity would be time. Since I don't have time to make it to the events anyway, when I do I can see how ascertaining value from the time spent can prove this detrimental. However for 4+ hours of casuals I'd drop 50 bucks.

I've been meaning to attend one of these but it's a 2 hour drive (and let's be honest, add at least 30min when driving in NY). The post listed the address and that it's every Friday but what time does the tournament start?

I'm going to have 4 setups this week for Injustice on 360. Depending on the # of entrants we can have 2-3 for tourney and 2-1 for casuals.

It's sad this tournament rarely gets promoted when it's live and people seem to ignore it all together. The comic book owner really likes Injustice and I don't want to see this opportunity go to waste. Between The Break, Next Level, and BPK, tri state scene has the potential to burst into flames with THREE tournaments every week. :eek:

I really hope more players start going to this.

I'll be on top of it going forward with making sure it gets front paged when we go live. TBH the turnouts were low so I either got caught up playing or forgot completely.

I think it had something to do with the timing and the date. About 3 Fridays in the past month have been taken up by tournaments (WB, SCR, FR), and so there were team tournaments or other games to watch in addition to the fact that some people were travelling. The other Fridays were going directly up against ATL's scraps tournaments, which are pretty well established now and built a following (descended from the AK weeklies) of their own due to Reno/Pig's persistence and the storylines involved.

I've personally watched portions of a couple of the Blu Planet tournaments, but I don't think people were purposefully ignoring it; it was just bad timing and people were already fixated on other things.

yea to be honest with Brady and REO showing up for the weekley and especially the monthly's the attendance is going to certainly pick up big time...

It's been mentioned a few times now, but I'll reiterate that the monthly at BluPlanet is a nice compromise for people coming from far away. Those are on a Saturday with the Injustice tournament starting ~9:00 but casuals starting as early as 4:00 so you can get in a lot of play. We should have a few players going from NJ (shout outs to Shock for driving) and a few from PA (shout outs to whoever drives from there) to the next monthly.

Is there a converter for PS3 to Xbox? I see the other way around, just wondering if its a two way link
