Bradycast: Back from Final Round; New Leaf

I'm gonna make this skill gap... disappear.
@Tom Brady, I definitely agree with most of this new way of thinking and have been saying the same thing for a while now.
I'm curious though- why not simply apply this new way of thinking to podcasts as well rather than no longer participate in them. They can still be an awesome place to discuss characters, matchups, tech, and shoot the shit about other things as well, and I know I'm not the only one who loves them for simply helping me get through a long day of work. I wouldn't write them off completely unless you simply aren't interested in participating in them any longer. I think it's time for the "New Leaf" podcast ;)

Please don't stop the podcasts. If people are worried they're causing too much drama and they need to take a break or clear the air that's fine, but straight up: I genuinely love listening to top members of the community talk about the game and things happening at the various tournaments that we don't get to see on stream. Hell, I like just getting an insight into their daily lives. This community is a place full of great characters and its great to hear from them.

What is going on guys, Ya Boi Zyphox here.
i really like were all this is headed, but at the same time i don't want to lose the hype. i can see how just watching marquee match ups can be enough hype but i also like some back story without making someone feel bad like what i went through for about 4 - 5 months on here for being rebelo'd, put on insane amount of pressure to perform well, not do well and try to talk to defend myself. and am not going to lie it drove me in every match at Winter brawl because all i heard about is how much of a fraud i was and how harold was the best flash free. a bunch of people went through the same thing, and it can be great hype with hype story lines and even push people past their limits, like myself because i honestly i don't think i could play at that high of a level like i did at WB again (me being emo). some people want to be the best at something, i always wanted to be a top player and i used it as fuel at WB. i got complacent going into FR and i suffered and i almost want to be put on blast to motivate me to turn the tides once more. except when i lost to REO and harold beat him i don't think anyone put me on blast for it, or how harold got 5th and i got 17th i didn't hear anyone put me on blast yet ( if you have its okay tell me i may fuel me at the next major). my point is i do like the way its turning out, i just want best of both worlds, hype, competition, and everything that was said above.

I agree. There needs to be a balance of hype and competition without putting people down.

I agree with everything except the Rebelo thing. I was thinking about this, yes it adds pressure but a lot of rebelos have panned out, I think they just need more then 1 tourney to show it. Example: Orochi, Zyphox, Jupiter. Maybe instead of hyping them up so much just be like "Hey this guy is really good I think he will do well when he starts to travel." Instead of "OMG this guy is insane! Top 8 or he is a fraud!" Nothing wrong with telling people to watch out for a person, just keep it reasonable.

I agree. The community should be welcoming to new players who put in the time and money to go to these events and not be rejecting them when they don't live up to the unrealistic expectations that have been set for them. Besides, there are also Rebelo's who've not yet "panned out" that I still pay close attention to because even if they don't have the results yet for one reason or another (bracketology, nerves, matchup knowledge, inexperience, etc.) you can still look at their level of play and recognize that they're someone worth watching even if its not quite their time in the sun.

EDIT: Lets be clear though, this is when other people hype you up. If you hype *yourself* up and/or talk a lot of trash, all bets are off. You better deliver or you will find no mercy.

Tom Brady is the Injustice Rep of America ;)..lol Just kidding
But, I do agree there's allot of trash talk and bullying in the FGC IMO. Watching steams and reading posts at times it has always seemed like the school yard all over again. If everyone "Turned Over a New Leaf" like Tom suggested, I think the FGC would actually be considered a MAJOR e-sport as well as draw more players and fans alike.
~ My 2 cents..Good Shit Tom and DMS..!

I wrote out a standard paragraph with major and minor supporting details to explain why being too lovey dovey can be a bad thing, but who are we kidding? It won't last too long. This community needs rivalries, hype, podcasts, etc. etc. It's just the way it is.

If i wanted drama like this i would just watch WWE . Good stuff Tom.
I do not think it is just coincidence that quite a few of our more vocal and noteworthy players are also huge fans of professional wrestling. I do not mean that as a judgment. Let's just say that it should not be surprising that drama seems to be the drug of choice around these parts.

I mean who doesn't like to listen to @GGA Slips 's wicked sexual desires?

Niiice! Same ol' Brady! Luckily, I'm not buying it! I'm pretty sure Brady will indefinitely continue his 'Harvey Dent' shenanigans...
