These lists are far too influenced by the latest set of tournament results, which is silly because of (1) how varied results have been and (2) the humongous role of player skill in determining results. Number of top 5 lists with batgirl increased exponentially after sonic fox won FR.
On batgirl's cartwheel - maybe I'm missing something, but I think the value is greatly overstated. Yes it's annoying to guess as a defender, but the trade off is actually in your favor. If you get hit you take 10% if you guess right, all versions are punishable for much more than that.

Her other footsie tools seem to have problems too. They are easier slow or punishable for more than the damage they deal. What am I missing?
nah i think everyone has been saying Batgirl is broken or at least top 5 for a while now.

Everyone is top 5... except joker. Who is top 7. It honestly determines bracketology or if you have a good 2nd character. Also this game isnt a year old yet. See you guys in september for the next top 5 thread... or next week. Whichever comes first.

See this is where im gonna disagree with @AK Pig Of The Hut on the cyborg mu :p if zod trades iazb with grapple we both get knocked down but bm is launched. Cyborg, if we trade cyborg is knocked down but bm just staggers a bit. Gives bm more than enough time to call trait and dash in, worth the trade imo. Idk never played a top tier cyborg. Also one last thing bm vs zod is 5-5 ANYONE that disagrees with me is playong the mu wrong...period :)
Lets play that MU. Zod-BM is fun, but I would like to test Cyborg also. I do pretty well against Arma and King in this MU. Grapple doesn't usually trade with iafb like it does with zod balls. Usually you just get hit out :p. IaFb are kinda a problem for him, but pretty easy to adapt to. Basically batman has to start walking in, wait for trait. Then he can start jumping in safely (very easy if cyborg is just machine gunning iafb). Batman dominates the neutral and upclose game though and once he gets in he makes cyborg pay (like many of the cast).

Probably a 5-5, but the the pushblock nerf really hurt cyborg in this MU since I could put missles up and push you into them if you woke up slide or j2 in.

The cartwheel straight kick ender is + and a high .... the only way to punish it is to block low, in which case she can end the cartwheel in overhead. So you've got to block low on reaction--pretty tough.
Why do you need to react? Can't you just guess and rely on the fact that cartwheel does 10% if you are wrong but you get way more than that if you guess right? In the long run cartwheel mixups are a losing proposition for batgirl.

Also, I think people may be overrating Zod's rush down right now. Most of his pressure with trait can be fuzzy blocked (although this will take time as it did with batman), but most importantly people are not interrupting Zods low laser string yet or punishing the OH trait grab consistently, (which are usually his enders). Thus Zod always has to take a risk to try and open someone up.... but right now I get tons of free combos I know I probably will not get in 6 months time.

However, I think Zods zoning is being very under-rated at the same time. His full screen presence is super good and is a problem for a lot of characters haha. With a low trip guarding lasers, ground/air zod balls of varying sppeds and heights, a psionic push with a huge hit box, and of course a 6 frame air charge... he has more control than any other character from a distance imo. It will just take time to put everything together and dial in the execution for each MU.

I think after you get past MMH, Zod, Aquaman....and mayyybe Wonder Woman and Batgirl you get to a tier level of characters that is really large and on the same plain...which makes it kind of hard to just number them.

IMO that large level includes: Sinestro, Frost, Green Lantern, Black Adam, Superman, Batman, Flash, and Bane

why is aquaman so high on the tier list ? he has very tough match ups...raven, bane, shazam, GL, grundy, wonder woman, nightwing...and yet people put him soooo damn high

What? No way dude. She has 3 enders. Pretty sure you cannot punish any of the enders on block, only the high kick ender on whiff. Backdashing might be a decent option--but she hits a lot of characters out of their backdash. Cartwheel mixups are WAY in her favor.

What exactly do you get if you guess right? You guess that she will do high kick ender and you crouch and punish? The Batgirl player doesn't see you crouching and still ends with the high? 33% success rate? Get outta here.

Flash is not overrated who thinks he is too 5? I think he is around 7th
He's a solid character but he has issues that no one acknowledges because he has big burst damage with trait even though plently of characters can get similar damage. I don't have him in my top 10 but you could make an argument for #10 but I still think there are characters with stronger cases for that spot.

How? If the Batgirl player only uses the high/+++ ender and the low ender and saves the overhead for crouching opponents--how is it in your favor? -9 is punishable, but with only D1xSomething, save for a few characters? It also pushes you back.

Who taught you guys probability/risk? SonicFox shows everyone time and time again how broken Batgirl's cartwheel is. Imagine Batgirl players who don't throw out yolo cartwheels?
A multihitting, fast, nearly unreactable move with an overhead, low, and high (albeit PLUS) enders? It's not in your favor unless the player becomes predictable. I'm not complaining, I'm simply pointing out that there's no point in downplaying her cartwheel. You guys sound like the Trident Rush downplayers. It's silly.

I Don't see how batgirl could lose to aquaman. she can still combo him, but not vortex.

I was just yesterday saying how I think DD is just outside of top 5, but then I kind of just looked at the cast and realized how many stupid characters there are in this game. I think DD is good, like super top tier worthy in any other game, but this comp is tough lol.
