Bank of Perfect Legend: MK ranking system

Insuperable

My mom tells me I'm pretty
"This ranking system only accounts for Mortal Kombat Major Tournaments. Not locals or regionals.

For a tournament to be considered a major it has to have quality competition. The quantity doesn't matter as much but needs to be healthy.

Rules:
A Major is a tournament with quality players from all or most regions
Top 16 only matters at EVO, TFC
Top 8 only matters at majors
Top 16 does not matter at majors unless it is huge like 100 or more people and healthy with top players.
This ranking only counts majors.
If you have only got top 8 once you can't be on this list.
EVO is worth 50 pts, Major 10 pts
2nd place at a major is 4 pts, 3rd place is 3 points, 4th-8th is 1 pt each
2nd place at evo 10 pts, 3rd is 4 pts, 4th-8th is 3 pts, 9th-16th is 1 pts"

EVO 2011:
1 Perfect Legend - 50
2 REO - 10

EVO 2012:
1 Perfect Legend - 50
2 CDjr - 10

EVO 2013:
1 DJT - 50
2 REO - 10

Perfect Legend Total : 100

Immortal Kombat

almost moderate success
I get this but correct me if im wrong....
I seem to recall PL took a long time off from MK9. Didnt he also not go to alot of tournaments because his location?
I know thats not an excuse because Reo did the work and showed up for tournaments.
However PL won BACK TO BACK Evos.
Back to back man, thats our superbowl.
Its kinda like a football team thats wins all year and chokes in the big game. Im not saying Reo isnt the best MK player cause i think he is but...PL won Evo twice. Id rather have that resume.

Honestly their achievements parallel each other. You can make an argument of both. Or just say they were both top 1. But PL did win back to back EVO and the only player to make top 8 all three years. I think it's amazing how he was kicked down than one EVO a second time around.

It'd be interesting to go back and see what kind of route he had. I thought i remember something about him getting byes to the finals of his pool or something. i could be wrong though that was a long time ago

Dude this is biased. I get what you're trying to do, but how can you leave out PL's tournament placings? lol...just ignoring those huh? Tallying PL's EVO wins alone? so wrong.

PL's argument is that he is the best because of his two EVO wins, so I figured that was enough to get him the #1 spot. Even with PL's tournament placements, he is significantly below REO in score. This is using PL's system to rank players.

I think his point is that you're ONLY counting PL's Evo wins. He got 3rd I think at MLG.

All in on Johnny Football
I think it's obvious that REO had the better record but just for more points aren't you forgetting NEC 2012? REO beat Maxter in GF if I recall correctly so add another 10 to REO's number lol.

PL's tournament placings(just to be fair..since we're showing off resumes)

2nd at CEO
1st at UFGT 7
1st MLG Columbus
1st at EVO
5th at one MLG
3rd at another MLG
2nd at Seasons Beatings
Since you're counting On the Edge, Salty Battles, Battlefield Arcadia, and New Challengers, I will count Frosty Faustings.
1st at Frosty Faustings
7th Final Round
5th UFGT9
2nd Frosty Faustings
1st at another FF's
There is also Power up and his 2012 EVO win...not to mention Youmacon and crap.

Obviously he traveled more in 2011 and took a long break. Something to keep in mind. Regardless, REO and PL were clearly the top two MK players imo.

Isn't there some other ones too? Like something in Texas and PDP, might as well count it. What about the MLG arenas?
