What is going on guys, Ya Boi Zyphox here.
Final Round is this weekend and it has me wondering, is Final Round the hypest/Biggest tournament of the year right behind evo?

Final Round XV was the one tournament that i stream monstered that really got me into competitive fighting games just two years ago. it was so hype, the 5v5, slips vs brady, Big D, pig, CDjr. all these guys were my inspiration to try to get good at MK9. i went to my first ever tournament after that, ECT4 (i went 0 - 2). i remember all the hype that surrounded FR that year and it was amazing. last year also was pretty exciting. a lot of blow ups, the most unpredictable major ever, and wafflez.

This year however almost all of the coasts are gathering around, most of the scenes will be making it out, and in typical west coast bullshit fashion, they are the only scene that i know of aren't coming.

Anyway i want to know what you guys think. share some stories, memories, blow ups and hype in this thread of past FR tournaments or for the one this weekend.

With the end of Seasons Beatings the HOly Trinity of FG tournaments are FR, NEC, and EVO.

Shout Outs to FRX I think it was where the Melty Blood crew almost got arrested at this rib joint down the street from the venue.

yeah FR and NEC are the two hypest majors outside of MLG or EVO imo.

I am the beginning, I am the end.
As a stream monster spectator, I am so hype for FR.

1.) it's happening on my birthday/weekend. (Beware the ides of March.)

2.) My dude and pretty much offline clan leader, lol, (TKO) @Gweedo888 (I think I'm part of it, if it's really a thing) is going , so I have someone I actually know irl that's going.

3.) injustice has made it this far so get hype!!

I don't know why, but I'm looking forward to this event way more than any injustice major so far. Good luck to all the competitors, and thank you so much for all the traveling/dedication some of y'all put in. Really, some of you guys really don't understand how much people like me appreciate this.

No. Stop with this mentality that every most recent tournament is "THE BIGGEST AND HYPEST!"

I have been to MLG and other majors, and they are all pretty hype to attend, but Final Round is always super hype compared to most majors. I always get more excited for FR more than any major I go to.

I'm looking forward to stream monstering Final Round more than any other tournament so far. FR is always really loud and vocal. So yea, it's one of the hypest tournaments of the year.

no. not the 2nd hypest. THE hypest. if you like any fighting game on a spectator level period this event is amazing. watching koreans play tekken in person was amazing. also seeing all the international competition in smaller games as well as capcom is amazing as well. also it happens to draw good numbers for both games i play. i always look at final round the as evo for the games that dont make evo

FR XV was my first tournament. It was a nose dive into competitve gaming for sure. Almost every major since NEC has been insanely hype and I think FR will be no exception. Can't wait to get there.

Lol exactly how big is the MB scene? The Steam group is about slightly smaller than 3s on GGPO. And I know it's still decent in JP.
