What's new

Hello once again, apprentice in need of a master

I hope that the title says almost everything here. I play MK for quite some time now, but I still don't consider myself particulary good. The first problem is time because of my job and everything else, but most of the time (when I actually do have some to spare), I'm too lazy to really put in some work studying the game and training. I usually just jump to ladder and online matches instead. I also tend to rush and get frustrated too much and too easily. I don't consider those problems to be anything special, but on the other hand I feel a strong desire to become at least somewhat solid at mortal kombat.

I know I'm late. I', also aware of the fact that MK isn't even being played that much anymore, but all this doesn't matter much. I really enjoy playing it with friends online and sometimes also together behind one computer.

And oh yeah, you heard it correctly, posses a PC only, not a single console, and I have MK installed on Steam. Not to mention online lag being horrific as yall probably know by now.

I main sub zero, and I also play some sektor, but I'm horrible with sektor. I play the game with my xbox 360 controller.

So lets just jump to the main question again. Would any great player on this forum be prepared to "take me under his wing" for a period of time? I'd very very gratefull, in fact, I'm even prepared to pay for lessons if a teacher would be a real good player. I'm willing to train like 3 times a week or even more, just like with any other type of sport.

Btw I'm pretty good tennis player, I love tennis and I want to use somewhat similar approach at fighting games. I think it's absolutely neccesary to become pretty good player in order to enjoy the game in its full potential.

But I really don't have time nor the patience to fight through all this enormous pile of data on this forum myself. As I said, I'm willing to even pay for a good teacher, I just love this game so much and I don't have any great player of this game in my vicinity. (I live in Slovenia, Europe). The fighting game community isn't exactly flourising here so it's immposible to find great players or even enter the tournaments.

I want to learn as much characters as possible, I want to learn frame data, mu's, proper blocking, the correct timing for combos, everything.

If anyone is willing to help me out, pm me please. We could also talk via skype and play via steam. Sorry but thats the only option I have (at least I have a very powerful pc, so game always runs at 60 fps max detail when offline).

Thanks in advance to my future teacher! :D

Thank you very much man for the link! Same here I'd love to play and train with you, to bad it isn't possible. That link was very helpful indeed, thanks once again!!
No problem, I hope you find someone to teach you. When I was just starting to take MK more seriously back in the day I first just practiced combos and started watching tournament footage and seeing what the pros did then tried to implement that stuff into my own gameplay. You don't learn a fighting game quickly, it takes time and practice. You just got to stick with it and eventually you'll get better. Good luck. :)

I could show you some good stuff with Sektor. Pm me and ill give you only the important info. People on this forum tend to post every worthless variation of his combos and its hard to sift through the shit.
