Ill begin with this, fantastic atmosphere.
Everyone I had the pleasure of meeting were stand up guys ..... Except for @jamessmk <_< bum rushing into my room drunk as an irish bar on St.Patricks day at about 5:30 am sunday morning when I had just gone to bed 10 minutes before that.
Haha joking aside great meeting james finally.
Also shoutouts to my drinking partners for the weekend @emperor_warchild @FOREVER KING @emperor of outworld .
Now ill begin with my experience in the actual tournament itself. As my 1st major I was worried about getting tourny nerves so my smart ass decided to finish half a half gallon of Jack Daniels with the help of emperor warchild right before my pool was set to begin.
I was in pool 8 with names like darth arma, and my son Tom brady.
Now I'm not shouting RIG but, last minute before our pool begins..... A staff member of the event who I will not name but will say he is one of the faces of bruce wayne was supposed to be in pool 8 vs two Aquamen (Tom Brady and his mother) but magically gets swapped for the highest rebelod green lantern (orochi) hmmmm they couldn't risk there staff's favorite to take winterbrawl meeting his end in pools to either an aquaman in winners or an aquaman in losers, so hey let's try to get rid of batmans greatest threat and just throw a top green lantern in that pool.
So fine after going 2-0 in a drunken slow motion set vs @flipkev 's zod GGS by the way, a really nice guy in real life..
I was now set to face my son Tom Brady on stream..... The only match I had actually worked towards the Aquaman Mirror was the match I blew, and no it wasn't nerves that made me go 0-2 and sent to losers by @Tom Brady , it was my inexperience on the big stage and making the noob mistake of being drunk. Thanks to my drunkness my reaction time was like a half a second late making the most simplest mistakes vs aquaman like not blocking his b2 into scoop which leads to full combo punish or reversing a couple blocked from the deeps which I could have punished with my own return from the deep. Other than my mistake of being drunk there was the lack of experience in trying to remain focused on the match when I'm laughing half the time at the pop offs and jokes everyone around us kept cracking. No this in no way means that if I had overcome those beginner mistakes I would have defeated my son brady who has proven time n time again that he is a FANTASTIC and top player, but it is to give experience to any other online players who are considering coming offline.
After my defeat by Tom, I am sent to losers to face the mystery new opponent to pool 8 @Orochi. In a close set at 1-1 my converter decides to glitch on me during my beginning of a combo on orochi which could have gave me the win since he had like 30% left health on his green lantern and I was like at 10%. Right when I land my jump in 2 BAM converter glitches and the match is awarded to Orochi.
No shame in loseing to him in any case, great guy which whom I had played a lot of casuals with the night before since he was not supposed to be in my pool.... Thank you for that winterbrawl :/
In summary I had a blast this weekend I love this community I love these NRS games so I will be attending more majors now, most likely will be at Final Round but as far as attending Winterbrawl next year I don't know about that I'm very dissapointed with the seniority and help given to already top players who don't need it.
