When it comes down to it I'd rather have a breaker at the cost of 2 meter. Yea clash can allow you to get health back and possibly come back. But breakers IMO are vastly more helpful especially against characters like Flash, Zatanna, and Batgirl that can get you in endless vortexes.

I like clashes better because there can only be 2 and the dialogue is a nice touch. Breakers are hype killer IMO
Yea I see the reasoning but a breaker can make the difference between a win and loss where as if you use your clash, you're screwed if you mess up afterwards.

clashes can also make that difference, you just have to use it smartly. I like that you only have 1 chance to pull that trigger instead of matches being littered with breakers

Not a huge fan of either, but if I had to choose, I would say clashes.

A MK9 style combo breaker that you could only use once would be the best. Still cost 2 bars.

breaker works well in mk9.
clash is vital to injustice, zoners would be broken as fuck if they could clash every combo.
Injustice is momentum based, breakers stop the momentum.
Then characters like Zatanna and Batgirl should have a little more risk in order to do their vortexes. As it is now if you get caught in one you're screwed. Clash on second life bar make a mistake it happens again.

As opposed to characters that keep you out forever, push block you whenever they can and you finally get them in a combo and oh look, breaker. The fact that injustice has 4 bars is also part of the reason why breakers wouldn't work. Too much opportunity to break.

Good point. I'm suppose I'm just nitpicking but THTB's status about Zatanna prompted me to make this thread.

This is my reasoning also. Breakers might be more useful and/or arguably more skill based but they kill the momentum and the hype in the game a little too much.
 
wut mk9 was always hype even with breakers...i don't see how it kills the momentum when clash stops the game for like 5 seconds and resets to neutral position and midscreen. Breakers put the person who broke at advantage and put them up close so that person could reverse the offense.
The difference is that Clash can only be used once by each player, while breakers are a constant annoyance. Its just a personal taste.

That too. Its funny, I kind of figured those would actually start to get annoyingly repetitive after a while but they're still freaking awesome and I somehow still hear new ones randomly every once in a while. Supers on the other hand......

Breakers at the cost of super meter is stupid mech that limits options for some characters, say, if they are kinda unsafe and CQC-oriented as you'll want breaker over enhanced specials, and that hurts diversity of the game.
Obviously, there are many others factors, but let's say if you are going to allow fast meter building in your game, then you either limit breakers anyways or you'll see some MKvsDC-tier breaker spam.

I haven't read the thread so maybe someone else has said this, but clash for injustice and breakers for MK. Raven would be broken as hellllllllll if there were breakers, so would Zatanna. Let MK and Injustice remain separate.

Considering MK had more touch of death combos, I think having a semi-infinite amount of chances to get breakers was necessary in that game.

In Injustice, Clash works because once it's gone, it's gone. You have to be able to play an honest match one on one once they are consumed. While this sucks because it mainly favors the zoning characters, the health gain aspect of this helps the rushdown characters so that they can still have a fighting chance. That is, if they're smart with their meter.

Thing is characters with vortexes tend to benefit from a one time breaker type deal making it a pain for other characters. I understand that's just how the game is but it seems a little unfair IMO.
