Arkane Slim
I did a lot but I never hated...
I was inspired to type this thread based off of a recent webcast I heard with Tom Brady and Perfect Legend.
I live in Arkansas (work for the Air Force) and went from a casual player (during the games release) to being a competitve player. Now I don't have solid fundamentals and I'm not good with all matchups, so I do rely on Test Your Might and watching YouTube for Tournament footage with some characters I like to play with. The Problem is, I need to be able to apply these techniques in an actual setting.... meaning during gameplay.
That's when the online community comes in. :-(
Seeing how the Injustice scene died rather quickly in Central Arkansas, I have been relegated to go online for "pick up" games. I say relegated because I would love to play anybody no matter how good they are, but the online community is mostly a community without ethics. Yeah sure there are no rules in that realm [Online], but for a guy like me I just want to play a game and not have to deal with the trolling. For example, that vortex shit is not my cup of tea so lets say I play a game with Wonder Woman vs Batgirl and I get blowned up in the first two games (with no effects from PS3 Lag), then I want to play many more simply because I want to get more comfortable with that matchup.
Unfortunately, most "seasoned" players I've come into contact with online are the ones that Troll and try to make you feel "Salty" by quitting after they are up especially if I've came pretty close to beating them in the last game. Some others may do the "choosing the quit option after I select a rematch" troll. Now what these people don't understand is that maybe 4 months ago this would have actually made me salty, lol, but now I just want to play games and learn matchups better. I don't care about the record, seriously. Trust me, I'm too old to become mad at somebody that has no control over my own well being.
The point here is I don't have a local scene out here and its actually hard to travel to tournaments because of being in the Air Force. Kumite was the closest tournament to me and I could have gone to network but that weekend I had family come visit me. And with unethical people online, I just want to find good players who are willing to add me to PSN and actual play some games. Now the reality is you may be helping me learn more matchups more than I'm helping you if you're too good. However, if you are like me and you just want to play or you feel sorry for me and willing to help, than add me please.
My PSN name is Leeko3000
Thank you for your time.
