Next in his legacy of events is "Winter Brawl 8" as Big E takes it to the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Philadelphia, Pa on 2/21-2/23. About one week remains before the fighters take up arms and march through snow-filled fields in a quest for domination. The history behind the Winter Brawl events is packed with a thirst for victory, a thirst that is never satisfied. Remember...NEVER GIVE UP!

@STORMS: I know you have nothing to do with the making of the trailers and all that, but I have a question / suggestion that maybe you could answer / pass on...

Why are the only people featured in these trailers from the Capcom community? Is it because the trailer maker(s) only use Teamsp00ky stuff?

I understand that some of those people featured are the biggest names in the FGC overall (JWong, PRBalrog, Floe, etc), and that having them featured in the trailer only serves to promote the event even further, but, to me at least, it seems that by not featuring the top players or other game it somewhat puts the other games in a lower standing, like it is saying no one "important" is playing them. Am I reading to much into this?

While watching the trailer for the first time I was getting hype cause they were showing hype moments along with people/players getting hype, then Injustice came up and it was mashed with KI...and there were no people. Then the Anime games were featured, all 3 of them at the same time, with no people, followed by GoW3...again with no people. I understand (maybe) GoW3 not having people featured, but why not the other featured FGC games that are seemingly at every other FGC event.

IDK. I guess just feel as though if the top players in each game/community got at least a cameo in the promotional trailer that it would make the event, as seen from the perspective of those that see only trailer, 1) feel more like an FGC tournament rather than a Capcom Tournament featuring other games, and 2) blow up the hype even further since it would be promoting a somewhat more inclusive feel of all the communities and give more people a reason to want to tune it. If more players and people from a more diverse pool are getting pushed out there, IMO at least, it makes sense to me that it would just make the event feel overall bigger, and seem like it has more to offer.

You are reading way too much into this. If you want to have fun, then go, if not stay home.
Your statement is somewhat confusing. I'm not going to Winterbrawl, but I'm absolutely sure that if/when I watch if from home it will still be hype and fun, or at least have some fun/hype movements; that's not my point though.

I'm talking about bring more overall attention to all the games, not just certain ones, and bringing the "HYPE!" level up for all the games...again, not just for a certain few. Do you not agree?

No, I don't agree. It's just a trailer showcasing the games that will be played. It is an advertisement for a major. A major implies that top level players will be in attendance participating. Interesting things may happen when these players duel it out. Hype does not need to enter the equation. You do not enter a tournament or watch because of this overgeneralized "Hype", you do so for the competition. Seeing how Big E is giving out a $500 bonus pot for Injustice, the competition should be fierce and exciting to watch.

This community needs to get over their inferiority complex and just compete.

Maybe there are some who feel the way you imply, but there is no "inferiority complex" here, just an attempt at trying to observe the trailer from an outside perspective. Bottom line, of course those of us who are in the "outer-Capcom community" know what is going on and who to look out for in our own community(ies), and I don't think we can help but hear/know about the Capcom community's dealings, but others communities still may be foreign to us, and I see an opportunity to try and break that wall down with promo trailers like these.

Example: Me.

I pay attention to the MK community, but I'm interested in SF, KI, and possibly others. What if the trailer showcased talent from the Anime games as well as well as the others, and played them up as the "people to beat" or something, anything to show "these were the top players in these games" and thus showing that they were worth watching. It would promote a cross community mentality, that is all I'm saying.

I barely have enough time to follow the Inj scene, let alone all the others; still though, it would be cool to see/know that there was something worth watching in those other scenes, which I have no clue about at the moment.
