people tend to forget that if a player doesnt have a trainingpartner who plays X character, it doesnt necessarily mean they don't know what to do in the matchup.

Seriously this site has gone from too much theoryfighting to rebeloing injustice players. A lot of people who do not have any experience in most matchups still do well in fighting games. Some people are really fast at downloading, overwhelming you with their own gameplan or solid with theoryfighting in general. Theoryfighting on this site has gone from overrated to underrated. Matchups are still X characters' tools vs X characters' tools and not x player vs x player.

By the way, some times it's easier to fight a very common top tier character (say Batman or Superman) even if you don't have a training partner that plays him (because it's easier to understand how these characters work and what makes them good) than it is to fight a more obscure character if you don't have match-up experience (see: Hawk Girl, Bane, etc...). So this idea of "incomplete meta" is silly since you can say the same about the other scenes that don't have Banes, Hawk Girls, and other "whacky characters." Just because they're not super top tier (though I think Bane is top 10) doesn't make it any easier not to have someone who plays them in your scene.

Basically this. Flash is our only disputable 3-7 MU atm, but that requires the Flash to play a very specific way so that's why its disputable. Like the flash has to know exactly what to do and when for him to have that big of an advantage. Its like Bane vs GA, Its a 7-3 but only if the Bane player plays that MU in the specific way it has to be played (which is basically yolo)

We can win it, its not easy or fun but its definitely possible since Flash is dependent on meter to wake-up. If flash has no meter, you can BP him and theres not much he can do. Also Flash has a disadvantage in that he actually needs to be close to Bane.

But then again I spent the last 35 minutes of the GGA stream watching Max body out a pretty decent superman 17-4.

Also they say its like 4-6 at worst, and I trust the top Banes more than I do the top Brads.

Fight a zoning Superman that knows how to use trait lasers in that matchup and you'll see it.

GGA doesn't have "top tiers" (despite the BA, MMH, Superman, Batgirl...)
Catwoman and DD are giving that same Bane troubles (No offense to you @GGA 16 Bit , but those matches against Max were literally the best I've seen you play against him on stream. Very hype.).

So maybe instead of saying they lack "top tiers", you should reevaluate who is actually "top tier".

@EGP Wonder_Chef , are you saying they don't have any "top tiers" by some meta that is apparently no longer fully applicable?
Perhaps that they don't have any hype-Skype "21st spot Bane" list style of top tiers?
Maybe that they don't have any top tiers because of Bane's multiple "death MUs" and huge disadvantages that totally exist outside of theory?
Obviously if they had superman, BA, and the like (like I dunno... Kumite) then Bane would never win a local (despite taking 2nd in a major).


Does it really matter who is "top tier"? Like honestly, where the game is at now does having or not having these "top tiers" really make a difference? What it comes down to is this scene is constantly bodying out a lot of other scenes without needing them, so maybe your ideas are dated, your viewpoints flawed, and your tiers rendered meaningless. Real talk, I know I'm not a top player or even a middle or low player, but really does them not having top tiers take away from the fact that Catwoman took top 8? I think not.

But didn't max have to deal with something similar to that when he fought Harley at KiT? I know her shots don't armor break, but she recovers so fast that it doesn't matter if he armors through it with charge.

The only difference I see that Superman would bring with trait lasers is that when Bane is level 3. And that is only 6 seconds out of every 24 seconds of the match, usually.

But up close Superman would do better, but once he gets knocked down... it will be bad. Similar to the Batman match. Where Batman destroys bane in the MU until he gets knocked down. Then it is insanely in Bane's favor.

My guestimation on the Superman Bane MU. 6-4 Superman at best.
