Who's in Jail already? (Opinions on the Killer Instinct Jail system)

Hopefully this is a good place to post this topic. (Feel free to move it wherever) But its been not even a week yet since this was implemented, what are your thoughts and have you been in jail yet?

As for me? I think its a good start but needs more tweaking right now. (Maybe lower the DC rate a bit more) and yes I have been in jail. I don't own an XB1 but my friend does so I played with Spinal/Thunder and got DC'd all the way to Jail by scumbag opponents.

I hope to hear hilarious Jail stories and personal opinions on the system and whatnot. Also I apologize if someone already came up with this topic earlier than I did.

Yeah the new Jail system included in the KI3 patch. If your disconnect is 15% or higher. (somehow) within 10 matches you get put in "Jail" (Changes your icon and everything) for 24 hours. (Each offense raises your time up to I think a max of a few days) And you can only play online with people who are in jail as well.

Well in MY case (Only my case) I played about... 11 matches 3 disconnects from a person who was winning and the rest were well timed rage quits (Rage Quit before someone Activates Ultra).

My question is did you purposely disconnect against some people (and if you did, please elaborate) , or did they disconnect on you and you got the DC?

I never DC'd on anyone and I checked the internet before we started playing. (I'd rather give someone their win than rage quit, I take my whoopings with honor.) But each time I was given the DC as well without any explanation. And we don't use the kinect either so its not like we said a voice command either.

I do not play KI, but I will comment that the premise of the system sounds nifty! Though by the creation of this thread, I can see that the system has potential for unjust punishments. That can make for amusing stories at the expense of innocent players.

Indeed it has, some people have been reported to have been jailed similarly to me (and in some cases faster than me). Its pretty crazy right now.

Not a problem, but yeah I haven't played since that happened. Have you witnessed lots of online issues?

The online is fine. You should of been smart enough to wait 24 hours for all the rage quitters to be in jail.

I understand that and took my own precaution. I've yet to run int a single rq because they're all in jail rqing each other.
The bug is bad.... But waiting to play nullified it

Never even knew there was a jail system for people who disconnect, I wouldn't know I never "disconnect".

i wish ranked was banished from fighters forever so the player pool isnt split between ranked and player matches, and so babies stop caring about ranking systems and ragequitters and just played the game.

there should be a new term, ragehaters, ppl who hate on ragequitters, you both suck because youre playing ranked

The game has known desync issues, so even if you're not rage quitting you get put into jail just for the other person dcing. It's lame.

Yeah, I'm in jail after one opponent RQ on me. Seems like a pretty lackluster patch there are some other issues that need addressed also. Perfect time to hit the lab!

Hopefully they address all of these mishaps going on. But yeah I should have known better than to think I was safe with a new system that's not even a week old yet lol

I don't play KI but this is a step forward. I still think it should be like in Halo where you actually get banned and can't play for a certain amount of time. Because I think people would exploit the jail thing in some way. I don't know how, but I just have a feeling.
