I hate to be the one to be a buzz kill after how unbelievably hype KIT was, but I don't see anybody talking about this right now and I think someone needs to broach the subject.
For those who missed it, this lovely surprise turned up almost at the very end of pools:

Seriously. The *END* of pools. Now I'm not trying to blow anyone up for not noticing this during their play, nor am I trying to be dramatic and say the results of the tournament are now null and void. Its possible it might have affected the results slightly but everyone now has to hold that, and anybody could write off a mistaken pushblock as tournament nerves.
That being said; this has affected damn near every single recent tournament in some capacity and its something I think TO's and the community need to be much more vigilant about.
Just think about this for a moment: somewhere in an alternate universe that's extremely close to ours this went unnoticed in pools and Saltface and Foreverking squared off in grand finals on tournament point....and Foreverking clashed a B3 forcing them to restart the entire match.
I am not a TO, and I only just recently went to my first local where a grand total of 3 people bothered to show up. I do not have serious experience in this matter...but I think there is a pretty clear solution to this problem and I think going forward it should probably be adopted as a standard policy.
After setting up a station, before beginning the tournament or the stream, do exactly what Saltface and Harold did on stream before anyone sits down. Go to training mode, select Harley and a random second character. In settings turn on clash, and then B3, B3. If it does clash, you have a problem, but at least you found it before it caused a bigger upset.
If no clash happens then god bless, go forward.
EDIT:
Update from Kitana Prime for claryfying the issue. As he explains futher down:
Only thing left to say is this: whatever you do, don't be the scumbag to turn off the console. Seriously...don't be that guy. Nobody likes that guy.

This obviously complicates matters somewhat. The only real solution I can think of is that in the event a console is turned off this test should be performed upon restarting the game and it would probably be for the best to seek the aid of a TO as well to ensure the correct profile is signed it.ALL systems were hotfixed.
Players have to understand that controller 1 (signed into the profile with the hotfix saved to it) MUST be the one to control the main menu and second controller must continue without saving.
"Problems" only arised when someone turned off the system or signed in to a different profile, etc.
I tested each system before the tourney one along with @Jim after my b3 was clashed randomly.
Only thing left to say is this: whatever you do, don't be the scumbag to turn off the console. Seriously...don't be that guy. Nobody likes that guy.
