2/3 pools, 3/5 to qualify for Top 8. I like it because people truly have to earn their spots in the finals, and it brings way more tense/hype matches. What do you guys think as players and viewers?

EMPEROR_THEO

I only use characters with wakeup scoops.
If we could strive for more setups at majors (which LBSH, that should always be the case for Injustice and should be easy to accomplish with enough support), then 3/5 would be perfect for all around. The only unique thing about qualifying top 8 matches that should be kept is the lights out.

I think 3/5 top 8 and qualifying for top 8 be 3/5. It worked well and was awesome. I wouldn't mind 3/5 for the whole tourney either, but that could be tedious.

Kitana Prime

Top-tier at everything but the characters I choose

We played 3/5 throughout at CEO Never Sleeps with about 30+ entrants. Took way too long. We may go 3/5 throughout to test it again, but 2/3 to 3/5 qualifying really works. We'll have to see. Maybe you guys should run both styles at WNF in the coming weeks and see how it goes

I'd like all pools AND top eight to be three-out-of-five, but that would probably be a little much, so I can deal with just qualifying matches and Top 8 being 3/5.

It's more because I want to see more gameplay and not have the action end too quickly...a sentiment shared by quite a lot of players.

Still training...
3/5 gives players more games, which is always good.
It gives you a little bit more time to figure out a matchup if you're not familiar with it. (Especially since this game has multiple life bars instead of rounds.)
Although top 8 is kind of, for lack of a better word, special there's usually some killer pools that will have matches that could have been top 8 if the brackets had been a little different.

Time and equipment is the limiting factor, but if you have setups and keep things moving 3/5 for all matches would be the best.

(Also, what's with "to qualify for top 8"? Can't we simplify to "top 16"?)

No, because it could have been misconstrued as qualifying for Top 16 as well. I wanted minimal ambiguity.

Did KiT start on time? I know from the WC it seemed like it ended pretty late. If TO's ramp up to 3/5 for some of all matches, they might need to make sure to pad the schedule a bit just so everything stays solid.

See: MLG and how they scheduled their pools.

It started like 30 minutes late, but whatever. We got 6 hours of stream time for pools, and Top 8 even has the Capcom guys(stream monsters and top players alike) going "Wow, Injustice IS hype."

Yeah, if everyone schedules their pools well with the necessary padding, then we can prevent the blame game being played after events for pools running late and everyone will be happy :D

And yes, Injustice is hypefest2014 since the patch.. It's becoming ridiculous.

I keep seeing people saying "I quit" or "I wasn't going to play".. "but after watching X tournament I think I might pick it up" haha

Uh...hell to the yes. I'd like to see it ALL 3/5 but I respect the fact that might drag down tournament times/schedules. Still though KiT, as far as I'm concerned, just set the gold standard to follow.
