Having trouble getting better with other charecter's.

So I main Raiden, Sub-zero and Reptile and im good with them, but I can't move on to other charecter's.

I learn all the combos in practice, it's just hard for me to implement them online ( and im not using crazy long combos either ).

Right now im trying Ermac. It just dosen't feel the same, like im not as fluent with him or any other charecters I try for that matter. Anyone else had this problem and found a solution? If so please do share.

Also any tips for the charecter's im using now couldn't hurt.

I play Ermac casually, his fundamentals are punishment. 3,1 TKS for setups, 3,1,2 throw for blocked strings, F4 for low pressure, TKP mid screen keep aways, and occasionally you can use a levitate teleport to throw someone off; most smart people don't fall for that though.

Even if someone knocks you down, most people are dumb enough online to walk right up to a TKS on wakeup.

If you're having a problem connecting combos, then don't worry about it because that will come with matches being played and with time. The main thing to focus on is gameplay in general. Specifically, how the character feels as far as movement on the screen. Make sure it is a character that you enjoy playing with, versus a character you feel like gives you the best chance of winning. Most of all the characters on the game can be played at a high level. Pick a character that you like playing, and work on strategy with that character.....combos will being connected with come eventually. That's why I settled on Kitana. I felt she had the most to offer in terms of how i could maximize my style of fighting, and i really enjoyed playing her/using her move set.

My biggest problem with his combos are the jump kick, tele. Will I get that down pat eventually or is there a trick to doing it?

That's a good question, in this game it's all about practising, practising and practising.
learn it till you can do it blindly, and this advice isn't just for Ermac only but for every character.
learn different strings, different combos and after that learn some good strategys versus different characters.

My biggest piece of advice would be to just stick with the new character. Its very tempting when you lose to switch back to who your comfortable with. Especially when you lose to a player you know you can beat with one of your mains.

Just resist the urge to switch off your new character and play through it. I play 11 characters at this point with my main being ermac, Im at the point I very rarely pick ermac anymore cus he got old and stick to whatever secondary Im trying to improve with. Eventually you will get comfortable with how the character plays.

As far as the jump kick teleport thing, as soon as the kick connects teleport. If your close to the opponent when you lift them just hit up to jump, 4 then teleport, dont jump at them, youll find it easier to do it this way at first.

And ermac is about baiting and punishing, keep some spacing and keep them off you and when they get defensive you can get in there for pressure of your own.
