I couldn't have said this better myself.. Also being in the offline gaming world for over 20 years not a pro by any means of course;) , its damn hard to do what Reo did or any of the top 64 even. Im lucky enough to play some of these guys everyweek. They are the real deal if anyone at home doesn't think so pull up a chair and play em offline:)
OMG Nit! Welcome to TYM bro. For those that don't know Summoning is a legend in the lore of east coast Mortal Kombat. He was bodying people in MK2 before many of you were potty trained. He's as OG as it gets. Show the man some love TYM.

No doubt about it... Summoning has some serious stories from the LI area about MK. Westbury Nathans crew!

Does anyone know if there is a stream archive of the MK9 pools matches? I'm trying to find my match so that I kan hear the kommentary Aris did. I was the Kung Lao kosplayer who played Reptile against a SubZero player around noon on Friday.

Dude I saw you! That hat was SICK!

MK towards the mid got 55k, mvc3 got 65k and yeah AE got 82k am guessing all the people from Japan tuned in
That doesn't mean squat though. Most people turn in for all the stream when they join and don't really leave. So base it off time zones, not games. The stream tends to just go on as most people are there for all the games and will leave it on for the ones they don't care for waiting for news.

So the numbers on streams speak about the event and time zones, not so much the game. And notice the numbers went up as time went on in general.

That's just how these things go, reading into it more than that is silly.

In TV terms, Mortal Kombat was basically the lead in for MVC3 which was the lead in in turn for AE. Those numbers honestly dont look bad for MK at all anyways.

Actually people do leave, if you notice after the MK9 GF the viewer count dropped for a bit. Same with after MvC3 GF.

And even if you say is true, it is no coincidence that during pool stream on friday, MK9 got 8k~ and SSF4 was sitting at 25k. The whole day was dedicated to those two games, so if you tuned in to a particular stream it was because you wanted to watch that particular game. Not because you were waiting for something to come up afterward.

For a TV that most people turn on the channel as soon as they wake up for any sort of random updates on the later items that you can only get if the TV was on at all. It means nothing for any of the games really.

And notice how the ratio for MK is massively and utterly worse than it was in the original ratios quoted that I contradicted. So your ratios alone prove the 56-57k is a vastly inflated number that had jack all to do with MK. Because when it was one stream and not take your pick, MK did far worse ratio wise.

Hence, that large stream number speaks vastly more about EVO than it does any individual game, so take it with a large grain of salt.

EDIT- if you watch WCG or any sort of PC gaming event this also holds true. Finals eclipse everything but it's mroe about the event. Even though the RTS and FPS crowd couldn't give a rats ass, they do tune in.

I'd say MK's registration numbers, and more importantly individual registrants mean a ton more, and the showing seemed to be pretty good.

Hey, thanks! I got Perfect Legend to sign it when I saw him. He randomly showed up next to me during pools and was like "Hey, kan I wear your hat?"

Oh man! Now I really want to hear what he said. I had never seen him play MK before Evo, but man, his Smoke is awesome!! I didn't realize at the time that my little victory dance and everything was on stream.
