One of the best things tho about Evo 2011 being over for MK...we can finally delve into the viability of the dlc chars! Cant wait to see what some high level player can do with skarlet for example!

That's the worst thing that could happen to MK. The DLC characters are all overpowered and take out at least 1 character competitively each. Unless NRS patches the DLC characters, this game has peaked.

Supposedly a huge patch is coming out after aug 9th to address issues like that. Then maybe theyll let the community have some time with one version of the game, which may be a good or bad thing Idk.

I disagree completely, brady knows a lot about MK, but he always sounds so depressed and is a little to on point with his commentary and play by plays. You have to have a nice mix of knowledge, humor, and hype to be a good commentator, brady just calls everything like he sees it, or gives all the players backhanded compliments.

You obviously didn't hear Gamerblake's commentary in the money matches with Pig/Reo/Wonderchef/Krayzie and all of them last night. He is the most hype of any commentator for any fighting game.

i agree but his commentary did not do any good to my already sensitive ears, especially when someone did an xray during the matches.

Umm, that Check thing WTF, is wrong with him. Is he going to be on probation or relieved of his staff duty at TYM?

I think there should be some consequence, because this is exactly why from my experience sites such as Gamebattles is riddled with poor sportsmen like players, because there aren't any consequences for shit behavior. I mean even Tom said, that the DoA community turned to shit because there were no consequences.

Just throwing a suggestion out there. (Which is reasonable).

Were you watching the same stream as everyone else? He punished spin with roll plenty of times and when he didn't do that he normally got a throw which is better than nothingg. Were's this random dum critique coming from? Your making it sound like REO got bodied, he still reset the set and put on a brilliant fight. I remember PL destroying him with the 24 low hat string in ONE round.

Sure he probably should have blocked mid I guess but all other times he reacted well. REO didn't take advantage off of every mistake? Jeez same thing could easily be said about PL and every other player. Bottom line - it was a great top 8 and amazing final.

When these skilled guys face each other in high level competition, the victory can go either way ....... depends who is playing better in the day ........

Online Tony lost to Michaelangelo before in Revelations, and here in Evo, Mike lost to the same guy !!
Chris G lost to Michaelangelo in ECT3, and in EVO, defeated him !

Tom Brady won against Arturo in CEO, and lost to him in Evo ........

So, it's how works : maybe Reo can win against PL in other oportunity, who knows ?

I think we are glad that all these guys put good fights in the finals, and all of the top 8 are great players, with some serious skill in this game ! We hope to see more tourneys coming and we have opportunity to watch such good and high level matches, this inspires a lot us, players, to get better in this game.

No one is hating on Perfect Legend. Hes a great player, no doubt about it, and totally deserves the win. That being said, theres no need to belittle someone elses opinion because they believe someone else deserves the win. Maybe you should grow up and learn to see a wider perspective? With that attitude, youre not going anywhere in these forums, much less life itself.

Great job to everyone, congrats to Perfect Legend and REO for representing MK9 at its highest current potential. To all the players complaining about characters being overpowered, I'm hoping that a lot of the issues with the game have now been seen first hand and that future patches will apply more serious improvement and less bootleg style fixes. Evo MK went far beyond anyone's expectations and the players have only themselves to thank. Thank you to everyone who went the extra mile, or a few thousand, to be a part of it.
