This week featured intense popoffs, out of town representation, a familiar top 3, and a nail biting top 3!
Interesting Notes For This Week:
This week SoCal was happy to have down a great group of players from Arizona join us for WNF! hAZ's King Hippo, Bad Larry, BW1zZ, and Lobo all came and represented well. We went out of our way to make sure most of their matches were on stream, so check out the archive to get some west coast action! These players rarely get a chance to play, so this is a great look at some of the WC's finest going at it.
Any Given Day:
One of the most impressive things about the SoCal scene is the depth it has. After having dominating performances in recent memory, Nubcakes had a couple of incredibly close matches that put him out of the tournament early. Even though he played fantastic, the depth of SoCal makes it so anybody has the possibility of winning on any given day.
Given the fact that SoCal's results are often very mixed, throwing the Arizona guys into the mix created a fantastic tournament to watch.
Matches to Look Out For:
This week featured some of the most intense matches WNF has had yet, including the incredibly close set between Wonder Chef and King Hippo. Even though it was a slow crawl of a match, it had some fantastically close endings to each game. Another match to look out for is the absolutely slobberknocker between Sonicboom Brad's Doomsday and Hitbox Tyrant's Grundy. The battle of the big bodies was absolutely fantastic to watch.
