For the record 3rd week in a row the entire Chicago IGAU community woke up Friday with sore backs. Writing about Bane winning is getting boring. Max again tore through the winners bracket demanding more water bottles and venom each round. Pantychrist, Jim, Jeremiah and Wafflez were no match for this buffed up monster. Max has now begun to pull ahead as the #1 seed as we head down the final half of the season.
Fresh off his competitive high from placing top 8 at Frosty Faustings, Wafflez made his final GBS appearance of the holiday season before heading back to school. Always playing at a high level the downplaying youngster placed second. This was his highest placing at GBS yet. Although he didn't win the tournament he leaves GGA on a high note, eliminating Slips and securing another win against one of the so called "4 gods of GGA".
PPJ decided to leave the Joker behind and try Martian Manhunter this week but came up short in close matches against Grawlix's rapidly improving Wonder Woman and returning local legend Heroic Legacy's Shazam. Season 2 has been a rough road for the NEC champ. Will he return to his mains full time or continue to build matchup experience with these new characters?
Nightwing loyalist Curly Shay returned after a few weeks away in a hyperbolic time chamber leveling up and debuted a new name, Shiye, claiming he has improved and wanted a new name to start fresh. This was apparently a good move because he scored a 2-1 upset over 16 Bit(just to be clear that is me) in the first round of the tournament. I have read that Nightwing is the worst ever and can only win if the NW player massively outplays the opponent, leaving us to wonder if Shiye is a new threat looming on the horizon or if Catwoman is a bill of goods because she can lose to a bill of goods.
