Never noticed input lag until now

When I sucked I didn't noticed. Now that I am decent sometimes my JIP's don't punch and I get combo'd. Hate this crap.

It's a real b****. I just noticed it after getting beat by a noob who just spammed with Cyber Sub all day and because I was trying to setup nice combos (that got screwed by lag) he beat me. Wow. It's subtle lag but its killer.

Lol, and I just spent an hour in training practicing the combos so I know it wasn't error on my part. It was consistent and not working. This isn't a post snappin' cause I lost, I really just never knew the effect of even the slightest lag until now. Now I understand what all the fuss is about.

EDIT: A mod can lock this. I don't know why I made this post. A combination of frustration and realization I suppose but it's nothing new to anyone here.

Just remember that "nice kombos" don't win matches. Kombos are just tools like anything else. You should practice them until they are second nature so that when the time comes to use one you can do so without thinking about it. If you try to force it you'll lose every time. As a Kano player I've faced plenty of players with beautiful kombos, traps, and setups, only to beat them with plain old sweeps, throws, and chains.

Very true. Fundamentals are the basis of everything and should be relied on more than fanciness. Though the lag was happening, had I adapted and used the basics I would have won. I think my mind was blown as per to why I couldn't get any setups going even when I had him frozen and it messed with my game.

Yeah, you definitely have to play a little differently online. Once you get used to it, though, it becomes second nature (though it will probably mess with your offline timing...). Practice mode needs a lag setting like MvC3. Though I can think of a lot of things practice mode needs...

A lag setting? That actually exists? aahahha that's amazing :D I really wish there was some casual players here in London, Ontario but I really have no one to play with offline :(

Same here. I just moved tot he middle of nowhere Indiana and if there's an MK scene here I'll be very surprised. And yeah, MvC3 has the best practice mode ever. The lag setting is crazy!
