Xbox One Dpad swindle!

Never mind all the Fight Stick and Hitbox players out there that can't afford a new Stick and Console at the same time.

Despite having to learn on a Dpad until further notice, having to learn on really bad Dpad.

Really, really bad opening for X1, having one of its major launch titles being a Fighter with no option for existing Sticks (pcbs)

They are basically the same lol

The xbox1 controller is made of melted xbox360 plastic, and then painted chrome. The other is painted black.

Bottom line:

Play on a stick

As a stick player I really can't stand playing on any pad. I feel like I have to mash DP motions to get them to work sometimes. Still I don't think the Dpads are much worse than other ones out there but I suck on any pad I play on regardless of the quality. I can't even consistently activate spirit mode without whiffing standing roundhouses like a nut lol.

I will say the XB1 dpad is a lot better than the 360 one though but that's not saying much.

Yeah the way it dips in the center is a problem. Lots of dropped inputs. It's ashamed because it feels nice. Has a nice click to it. I think Sony has spoiled us with the dual shock pads.

Fortunately for everyone, just like every other console there will be 3rd party iterations that come out to quell people with different controller preferences. That said these two pictures don't really show any difference in quality as far as I can tell it's just colors. What would be awesome is if you actually took your Pads apart and took some pictures of the differences in the internal components. Then you would have some valuable conclusive evidence. Right now you have a silver button vs. a black button which doesn't visually prove anything in build quality. And forgive me for not basing any of my decision making on a verbal opinion of someone I don't know.

Wow, well i know that the dpad wasnt what we had hoped. I personally would prefer a stick in ki. But its better than the 360 one (imo) and some people kick ass with that KingHippo. So the stick isnt necessarily an advantage. This pad just takes some getting used to.

I have both a day one and a regular off the shelf and they are both the same. Both are roughly ass. And both are near infinitely better than the 360 version.

I got a day one with no pre order the day after release by simply walking in the store. Also the d pad is still ass. I use analog for ki atm

no one is forced

DP motions are not as easy on pad period..... and it takes practice

and we all know how everyone loves to practice things.

I did them just fine on all pads i've used.... its just a practice and familiarity

so much whining about the pad..... but most of it is from people who don't play pad......

It's actually not bad, I don't mind. I do eventually want a stick though, but not at Madcatz ass rape prices.
