is it just me or does blocking not exist in this game?

I just spent an hour play exhibition games to learning how to block glacius and orchid. There are two blocks: hold back and hold back and down. With jump ins you can't hold back and down, with low kicks, you can't just hold back. So you have to learn how to react fast. Usually some one with jump in then do a low kick, so you block high then block low. It takes some practice, but it feels a lot like the original KI. Also combo breakers are easier on the linkers, you can only link light and medium, so you have a 50% chance of guessing right. The biggest thing I hate is the wake ups are as strong as KI, they work, but I loved the original wake ups, especially orchids.

this is incorrect. you can do heavy special linkers. also, it is much easier to break auto doubles on reaction than anything else because you can memorize the animations. l/m/h special linker animations are USUALLY the same (there are exceptions) just with a different number of hits. much harder to see. shadow linkers are easy to break too but get baited easily because of 1, 2, 3

What is a heavy special linker? I see regular linkers which much use light or medium and shadow linkers which must use two buttons (one being light or medium). Unless I am missing something or some character.
 
Dude! I just tried it and it works you can only break with fierce, I must of missed it in the Dojo. On KI 1, after a wind fierce wind kick, you can hold F and FK again for a double hit. I just assumed holding medium was similar a third medium hit. You just made my day!
