They can not only take hits from a Superman who isn't pulling punches and survive, they can also keep fighting and causally talk about torture as if it's just another every day street fight and not a fight for the planet. They are few and far between but the ones who exist, oh boy.

Superman? Tch, if anything guys like Darkside are scary. They are few and far between but the ones who exist, oh boy.

The main reason I find Darkseid such a compelling villain is that even though he has and is capable of constantly outmatching Supes physically. That's only his last resort. As strong as he is the guy is a mastermind first and foremost. He'll make you turn against everything you stand for, he'll use you for his own personal agenda and then when he's done with you he'll erase you into oblivion. Darkseid is scary.
