Sadira on Wake-Up

Okay, I admit, I need help with waking up lol, specifically with Sadira. It's bad. Whenever I get knocked down my opponent can literally just stay on top of me and punch away. I try to get up and backdash, with inconsistent results, and if I try to block eventually I get thrown and I can't for the life of me tech throws (But that's more of a "me" problem :D)

It seems that anytime I try to wake up with Blade Demon or Recluse (shadow version or not) i'll get stuffed or even thrown out of it occasionally. I'm assuming it's because I don't have a good grasp on exactly how the wake-up system works in KI, and I would love to learn

So, anyone care to help me better understand? :D

I'm not sure how big of a help I am with this, but have you messed with dojo? I was in that mode for a good 2-3 hours before I did anything else and it explains everything. Wake ups are wake ups, some punishable and some not. I don't have any experience with Sadira, but you could go in practice and look at her hitbox and frame data for wake ups.

Yeah, all I did was dojo for the first night I had it haha. I can wake-up with Jago and his Tiger Fury (i think that's what it's called) just fine, but I'm talking specifically about Sadira here. Trying to get some input on her

Oooooh I gotcha man. Wish I could be of more help, I wanted to pick her up since the Microsoft store and plan on checking her out tomorrow so maybe I can be of help by then. What's the inputs for her wake up that you're having trouble with?

QCF + Punch and QCB + Kick. I don't have trouble getting the moves out, it's just that they seem to get stuffed everytime

FYI, Sadira have no reversals. Only shadow recluse have a few invul frames but it is not a good get off me move. I recommend shadow counter

That's her design I think. She needs to control the momentum of the match and constantly put pressure on her opponent and put them in mixups. She would be broken if she had good wakeup attacks. Sadira's opponent should be rewarded for stopping her pressure and knocking her down.

Ahhh okay. Yeah, that's completely fine. I just wanted to know if it was the game's design or if I just sucked. Kind of a relief knowing it's not just me :p

Yeah her wakeups blow ass. I like to save meter to use Shadow specials on wakeup because they actually have invulnerability. Shadow Recluse (the flip kick) is an amazing AA and Shadow Demon Blades will stuff any normals your opponent tries to stuff you with. I believe non-shadow Recluse is invulnerable to throws so use that if you think your opponent with throw, or just tech it. Once they respect your shadow wakeups then knockdowns aren't much of a problem. If they never respect it (cus a lot of people online right now like to press buttons and don't even know the concept of respect in a fighting game) then just keep tossing out shadow wakeups.

Only Heavy Kick Recluse is Throw invul (frames 1-8)
Damn, it's also super negative :\ . Do you know the frame data for her Shadow Recluse and Shadow Blade Demon out of curiosity? I can't check at the moment and I haven't spent much time looking at the frame data.
