Well I love the SH series infinitely more than RE, but I'm just looking at the original games and my experiences with them as a kid. I think RE was a bigger accomplishment and more revolutionary. SH was certainly scarier and more ambitious. So it's hard for me to pick between them. I feel in love with RE, but SH scared me so much I couldn't play it for long. They're both legends.

I'm sorry, but if you stop and really THINK about FF7's story for a few minutes...you realize how little sense it actually makes. I'm sorry...but it's true. Dirge of Cerberus, which came later, only made it worse. People also tend to forget all the tedious busy work, grinding, and that one time Cloud was basically raped in-game, when thinking back on FF7. It is relevant because of timing, not because it's actually good.

FF6 had a WAAAY better story and villain.

Really FF7 was always bland to me, even as a kid. Materia system didnt have enough depth for me and the story was cliche in my opinion. I loved FF8 junction system and the cast of characters was amazing. As for my top 3 games

3. Final Fantasy 9 (honestly the most underrated FF game there is, this game is absolutely beautiful)

We'll agree to differ on this. To be frank, FF7 was the only title in the series I ever got to play, so I'm sure I'd enjoy the other stories.
