How to Avoid Desychronizations

I got this information from a post on TRMK about patch details. I've seen several people having issues with the dreaded "Desynchronization" issue and hopefully this post will help you.

Apparently there is an issue with the dlc costumes that is not fixed in any of the patches or compatibility packs. Please note I said "costumes" and not "characters". If you find yourself desynching from online matches try the fix below and you should see a sharp decline in the number of desynchs you experience. These steps are tailored to the Xbox but it's the same basic idea for PS3.

1) Press the xbox guide button on your controller.
2) Go to the far right tab labeled "Settings"
3) Select "Account Management".
4) Select "Download History".
5) Select a dlc costume.
6) Choose "Download Again".
7) Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each dlc costume you have downloaded.

Will have to try that, I desychronize all the time. Hey Karaokelove, did you get the messages I sent you about the online tournament. Weekdays after 5:30 PM and anytime on weekends. East time zone.

Yeah, I don't know why you kept getting the fail message. I've had your complete info for a while now.

For the PS3, I rarely get desyncronizing's anymore. I mainly get 'Game session' messages, but rarely, and I think its because the opponents manually unplugging. I didnt really do anything besides downloading the patches and characters. I never redownload any patches or DLC's at all, and it seems to have disappeared completely.

From what I understand, the PS3 actually got a patch to fix the problems the xbox is still having, updating the game to version 1.03. My guess is that NRS gets charged some kind of fine for patching their game with micro$oft, which is why they are delaying patching on xbox and making us do this temporary fix.
 
I still get desyncs all the time on PSN. It's really bad. Usually happens when I start winning a match. I'm beginning to think NRS hates me =(

actually this info was here as well, as NRS sent us this info and to about every other site, but since i cant find the posts (and dont feel like looking) i will sticky this post. if i come across the others, i might merge them all together. fyi. :)

So question: Does this happen only when you actually use a pre-order costume, or does just having them cause the issue?

Follow up: If I purchase the DLC pack from the PSN store, will that fix the issue?

As far as I know, just having them is enough to make it happen. Just to be safe I would go ahead and take these steps to avoid even the chance of desynchronization.
 
I saw re-downloading doesn't work for PSN, but I did it anyway. I actually cannot re-download my classic Ermac as I got it from a gameshare and have lost contact with the person with the login. Looks like I might be buying the costume pack. -_-;
 
I was trying to play online against my brother, and every time I tried to select Rain I got the "Game Session" message. Any other character was fine, just Rain.
