My TS rating is between 31 and 33. i guess thats good for someone that only uses joker. I usually measure skill by the wins and losses and never pay attention to the trueskill rating.
Using a person's record as a measure of their skill makes for inaccurate results. There are a lot of people with a high win percentage that still suck because they pad their stats by preying on newbies and people with a low TS and a bad record to match. Although the system is flawed, TS is a better indication of skill because it takes the relative skill of their opponents into consideration.

I don't know why NRS felt the need to give a ranked leaderboard to non-ranked matches. Having a ranked leaderboard for non-ranked matches makes it so that the only difference between Ranked and non-Ranked is that one can't decline when playing Ranked. That encourages stat padders to target people in non-Ranked since they can pick and choose their opponents and boost their rank in non-ranked (doesn't "rank in non-ranked" sound f'ing stupid?)

Oh i forgot to mention that i mostly play ranked and thats where i rate players that way. MuMuGuy
and when i play non-ranked i usually hop in the pjs lobby when there are some good players fighting.
but the few times ive looked for player matches lots of people decline that have good records before i find a match. Now i know why.

This ^^

TS is a much better way to measure, although it can still kind of be fudged, but not much. To raise it past like 30 you need to be beating people around 28-32 or higher obviously.

Not quite as bad ass as Heath Ledger's Joker, but I still did the Clown Prince of Crime a solid

Behold! The GOD of War!
After playing a few well known gamers from TYM, I might've gotten a little spoiled. Always expecting long sets, rare counter picks, and overall good sportmanship when it came to the FG craft.

Over the last couple of days, however, this has not been the case. I have leveled up tremendously with my Ares, and Doomsday. I can now, confidently consider myself an above average player. (Add me, to find out why)

Anyways, the point of this thread was to RANT about how frustrating this game can get tho when you don't have a local scene, or dedicated players to fight. I experience these things online when fishing for some solid matches. . . .

-After mopping my opponent, they counter pick with scorpion or mmh and spam teleports. I know spamming is simple to fight around, but put it together with online lag, and countering that shit takes the fun/competitive play away, imo.

-If I win or if the match is close and I lose, they run, clinging to their precious W/L record. . . As if they get a free ticket to EVO for having the best record online.

-I get hate mail. Actually, I rather enjoy this part. :)

Have you guys experienced this often? Discuss. . .

I know threads like this have been made already, I just need to blow off some steam.

Ares is scary. I don't think I'd run to save my record...
I think I'd just run out of fear.
Ares thrives off reads and punishing opponents mistakes. Meaning, he's only as good as the opponent allows him to be. He's no Doomsday, a character that creates his own momentum.

I'm aware, the fact that I'm completely terrible makes him a true god.

Yeah I can sympathise.i don't get to play very often and when I do there's hardly anyone on my friends list playing so am stuck with playing randoms which is no fun at all,I don't know if I can be bothered to try and learn this game anymore.

I don't understand the whole thing. If you get annoyed at counterpicking/dumb strategies/hatemail or whatever, don't play ranked.

I played 10 ranked matches in april to get the yellow lantern costume and that's it.

Just play TYM people.

I could not give 2 shits about my online record, I went 19-1 losing against THTB's Green Lantern the other day, it was fun, it was challenging and I enjoyed it. I am a scrub, but at least I put up a fight and don't quit, only time I leave is when it's too laggy to react to things too laggy I drop simple combos and wake up's not working, in that case it's not worth my time. Feel free to add me, kick my ass or whatever, I won't quit, as long as it's not too laggy.
