Lol, for some reason, the fierce warriors come out like crazy in MK. It's been like this for years lol.

Man, the stories I have for past MKs online... XD

I wish Bone saw this thread, so we could laugh at Shreddr. XDDDDDD

Fatalities become a form of teabagging when all you wanna do is get into another match, yet you're stuck watching this 30 second animation that you've already seen about 100 times.

Don't get me wrong, they definitely add flavor to the game. But they're simply uncalled for in Ranked matches or other highly competitive environments, as is teabagging.
I don't particularly mind them if I'm playing ranked, I mean I only have to watch one, it's not like I can immediately rematch the player. However, when you're playing someone, and they fatality you and you beat them and retort with another fatality and so on and so forth it wastes a lot of time. MK9 just has long ass fatalities. The old ones were quick here's a quick comparison...

12 seconds, we can probably dock about a second or two there from putting in the input, so we'll say 10 seconds.

We'll say this is about 20 seconds, so they've roughly doubled the animations. This is a relatively short one, Kung Lao's ground hat one comes to mind, that one feels nearly 30 seconds.

All in all, I'm not a fan of the change, the old ones felt more fluid; you didn't have Mileena casually strolling over to her opponent to rip their head off for instance. That and essentially every fatality now has the character showing off the opponent's severed head. They've changed from being a unique ender of the match to a "Look, I've killed you! Look at your head! Ha ha, you suck!"

I have no problem telling online 24Low Hat Spin spin spin Kung Lao players that they are trash.

Is it salty? Yes. :salty:
Is it still true? Yes. :top:

Against a kung lao player i will always chose the kratos stage, and always, always, always perform the stage fatality, and literally hold them over the ledge the entire time until the AI decides to drop them. I do it on purpose.

The idea of fatalities is for that little extra insult. You have to wait, and you have to watch. Thats the point.

No, I know, but they've just changed quite significantly from what they were. I used to love them, now it's just a "Well...I get that you're trying to rub salt in the wound, but can we play again already?"

Exactly.

I'd rather add some "extra insult" by just whooping their ass again in another match. Though I must say that it is nice having that extra 20 seconds to go grab a drink or go pee in between matches. :top:

You see this fatality argument is never gonna end. Some people will say they are wasting time while others say its a good insult. I'll agree with what Tim(I think) said a long time ago. If you get defeated, you essentially become your opponent's bitch. The loser doesn't decide what to do. Do I think its dumb that someone will jump around me, teabag, and then fatality because the "FINISH HIM!" time seems to last just that much longer for them to do that stuff? sure. I meet that kinda behavior fatality or no with the same amount of respect/disrespect when I beat their ass in the next round....oh wait, people beat me once and run. Plus I like doing a quick one like sub's classic. On the whole timing thing: the game is way more detailed than the stiff animations of mk2, of course they need to take longer to do some of them. Look at deadly alliance fatalities, they have comparable length.

too smart to play MKX
I was in a KotH with three other people and went on a 15 win streak. And one of the dudes in the room would dashboard every time he lost, then he'd rejoin. Every time... Throughout my entire streak. It was extremely obnoxious.

dont go into chatrooms to search opponents, i got a lot of top player in my list, and i only play privat matches, the best thing u can do

EX Ovi should launch
Ah last night i had some friends over and was playing online against some of my other friends for at least a good hour, and we played a lot of matches. In the first match that he won i complained because his fatality took too long, so he said he wouldnt do it if i didnt, so thats a deal. I then let another friend take over who babalitied him twice in a row, making him extra salty and so now he has vowed to fatality me every game i ever play against him because of this "betrayal". I cant wait to play more casuals with him :/

I got into a match with one of those guys who really like to counter pick today. First match I pick Sub Zero and he picks Sindel, I beat his Sindel and we rematch. Second match I went Sub Zero again and he goes Jade and manages to beat me. Third match I go Cage and he picks Kitana (oh joy) beats me and we go for another rematch. Fourth match I picked Raiden and he quit without even picking a character. Gotta love online.

How do you know he was counter picking.. We don't even have an updated tier chart.

Sindel vs SZ: SZ has to dash block past the barrage of iAFBs, Sindel is not going to jump into a clone or come to SZ.

Jade vs SZ: Glow negates clones, clones are rendered nearly useless.

Kitana vs Cage: Block dash, barrage of fans, buttslam away. Repeat x1000. Hate this MU.

What do tier charts have to do with anything? Number 1; most people know by now that Sub Zero and Cage have a hard time with zoning and so far I haven't seen any evidence that this patch changes that and Number 2; he always waited until after I picked everytime. I don't even care that he was counter picking, I just found it kinda pathetic that he chickened out just because I picked Raiden.

lol I'm always afraid I'm going to pick the wrong character, and like I said it wasn't the counter picking that bothered me.

Sindel vs Sub isn't quite that bad since Sub can sneak in an ice ball if he anticipates a mix up. It also helped that everytime I did get in and got a knockdown he did cartwheel kick on wake up and ended up eating a clone. But yeah Cage vs Kitana is pretty much a lost cause.

Kitana has the same problems against Sindel and Jade. You have to adjust you can't play them like you would other characters. Kitanas fans can be gotten past. Might not be easy depending on the character (Jax for example) but it can be done.

Tier charts are based on matchups. Jade being a counterpick vs SZ is only true if the match is in Jades favor (it might be too, idk). My point is though that the good players on this site are just starting to debate those in wake of the latest patch, and it may be very different a few months from now. It is pathetic that he left when you picked Raiden though. I hate the BS like that which people pull online.

I've had people in ranked (usually beginners with like 5-10 records) who will quit out at the character select screen! My record is decent, but I don't understand the point of quitting before even trying to beat the guy you're matched up with. How do they expect to learn or get better if they only play people with awful records that they can easily beat

I have the same issue with my friend.

I ALWAYS beat him, and when I just don't feel like working my mind, I spam fans with Kitana and he just quits >.>
I always tell him how do you expect to get better if you just quit, you won't learn anything.

Take note this dude mains Kabal, we play at his house offline, but he always quits >.>

i do that with about 15% percent of my matches.

if its laggy, you can tell in the character select screen, and im not putting up with bad lag. would rather SAVE MY TIME.

you better not be laggy bro, i kill you.

With good enough lag, jumping punches or kicks, repeated uppercuts and low pokes work wonders. Works for any character and players of any skill level. Very advantageous to players who are new to the game...I should know b/c I lost to one who employed the above mentioned tactics lol.

I'm incredibly backwards with this game.

I practice in Ranked, and take Player into better consideration XD
Same here. I've been trying to play Ranked matches more, but there are so many spammy scrubs that I loose all the time to because I'm using Jax and can't do shit with the lag. D:

I think almost every character has a lag setup but some are more annoying/unstoppable than others. I've came across Liu Kangs in very laggy matches, I'm talking lead boots underwater kombat lag, that turn b312 into a frame trap LOL. The minute you try to poke, jump or counter, you get hit with a b312 again and again. Wakeups don't usually work.

Sub Zeros D4 pressure and D4 into ice clone is difficult to deal with online too.

Quan Chi's trance 50/50's are almost impossible to fuzzy guard when theres lag.

Scorpions 50/50 is hard to fuzzy guard with lag.

Jax's dash punch is a funny lag setup, you know he's free when it aint armored, but when you try to down poke the lag makes it hard to react and you eat it. I've lost to people doing nothing but dash punch and couldn't poke or wakeup attack because inputs wouldn't work.

Zonning in general seems to be the name of the game now a days, at least online. Hell ive even run into Johhny Cages online that just run back and try to zone. Its kinda depressing.
