OMFG GUYS I AM HAVING AN AVALANCHE-GASM SO FAR THIS YEAR! Patrick Roy is some sort of wizard or something. 12-1 hell yes. MacKinnon is a monster, and him and Duchene are going to be a ridiculous pair for the next decade.

You'd better hope they slow it down--we all know about the curse of winning the President's Trophy...8 out of 27 is not a very comforting number.

With how bad the Avs have been in recent years I am playing with house money here. I am so glad we hit it big with Duchene and MacKinnon. They should be fun to watch for a long time. Roy is my favorite hockey player of all time, so it is just so cool to see him doing so well as a coach to start off that part of his career.

RiBBz22 You think you've had it tough? I'm a lifelong Islander fan--and actually old enough to have seen their dynasty. I have suffered for decades now. At least the Avs seem to cycle back up every few years.

And BTW, Peter Forsberg>>>>Patrick Roy ;)

Yeah Forsberg was one of my favorites too, but Roy was the one to really get me to start liking Colorado once they moved from Quebec. Plus it was sweet that my most hated team was the Red Wings and Colorado became a big rival during the glory days.

I liked how they kept bringing Forsberg back at the end of every year until he was 57. The last 10 years have been pretty rough for the Avs, but it is worth it since the late 90's early 2000's were so incredible.

Up in NY for Thanksgiving and got to my first Isles game of the year today--an ugly ass-whooping at the hands of the Red Wings.
But it was beautiful because it was the first live game for my kids. To watch two young children go all in, yelling, chanting, and cheering with the crowd was awesome--one of the most fun family days ever...
