I really hope there's some Killer Instinct tourneys in the UK when this game comes out, would be amazing.

The UK FGC tends to pick up a game for about a month max, then drop it for bullshit reasons and go back to SSF4.

It's likely going to happen again with KI, but I don't mind, I'm guna play regardless.

Indeed this is one game where I really want to give it my all especially considering I'm spending around £650 just to play it Xbox One, KI Ultra Edition and TE2 fightstick, I imagine your doing the same :p.

What do you mean, it looks extremely good, I'm not a FG veteran though
Maybe it's nostalgia. I just remember it looking more fun to play in the old days. This modern version doesn't seem that great from what I've seen bearing in mind it's the latest technology. The graphics alone seem meh and the gameplay isn't much better. We'll see when it's finished. Like all fighting games, I may be interested if the netcode is good but I won't hold my breath.

It's definitely nostalgia because in the old KIs every character played the same.

The combo system in KI3 is pretty much identical except it has more depth and more freedom with manuals, lockouts, counter breakers, wall bounces, juggles and resets. And it also has more gameplay elements like alpha counters and instinct mode. Not to mention the different character archetypes.

Really, the only things that old KIs have that KI3 doesn't have are Dangers, Ultimates and Humiliations. But some of these will come in the future seasons (stage knock offs, alternate ultras and no mercies have been semi-confirmed).

Graphics are still weak, the initial roster is tiny and the purchase scheme is stupid. Having to wait a year just to still get less characters than you get with most modern games from the start is a poor idea.

Dude your initial argument was about old KIs being more fun to play. Now you're talking about graphics, roster size and price model.

KI cartridge on SNES was like 70-80$, had much cheaper graphics than arcade and you only had 10 playable characters. KI3 is 20$ for 8 characters + Shadow Jago + dojo mode + online mode. Season 2 = 40$ for 16 chars + story mode + additional features and modes. Season 3 = 60$ for 24+ and whatever stuff they add at that point. And at minimum 0$+XBL for dojo + online + free rotating character. If you just want to play Orchid KI3 only costs you 5$ + XBL membership. How is that not a better deal lol.

LBSH Every single one of those purchase options are better than what we paid for SNES KI or Gameboy KI.

Also personally I like games with <25 roster because it means a lot less matchups to learn, better stages/music and more customization options.

Learn to read. I mentioned graphics in my first post too.

And I'm adding other things here. So?

10 characters all those years ago doesn't compare to 8 characters today. It's a feeble starting roster for a 2013 game. The games then were limited due to technology.

Buying bits of a game a piece at a time is stupid. Just make a proper game with a starting roster of 20+, decent netcode and plenty of modes. The game could be dead before season 3.

Also, the gameplay still doesn't look great. The whole game just looks average at present.
