Do you guys think it will stand the test of time? Do you think we'll continue to see it in Evo, tournaments, etc? Will next- gen kill this game? Please discuss and be respectful, you can express your opinion without trash talking the game.

That said, I hope so. Injustice is a lot of fun and I think it can grow and sustain itself beyond being just the stepchild of the MK community. I have no doubt by the time MK10 comes out the community for IGAU will have shrunk, but then any game does over time. I just hope we're not done with balance patches yet because it's very clear this game still needs them - a lot of stuff went untouched on the last patch that should still be addressed which are big problems, and there's still a lot of small ones to be honed. How strong the balance is will make a difference in its longevity, and we're not there yet.

it might last with next gen as the ultimate edition is being released for ps4 but it will probably end up like mk9 is when mk10 comes out, unfortunately

Of course when mk10 comes out everyone will go to that, just like when injustice 2 comes out everyone will leave mk10 for that. Another thing that benefits this games' longevity is that its a DC game. People who aren't even in to fighting games but are dc fan boys will still play this for shits and giggles. I personally love this game. Its a game ive been wanting since I was a wee lad watching justice league and justice league unlimited. And when injustice is dead I think it will be remembered for the good overall balance.

I feel like it's way too simple to have a dedicated following for very long. Doomsday, Supes, Lantern, etc. etc. are very braindead and top tier as well. I know for a fact if MK10 came out tomorrow I wouldn't be playing Injustice anymore.

Well said. And so on and so forth. I cant believe this game is what only 7 months old and talks of it being dead are already here. I, for one will be dedicated to this as much as I can be until it is truly dead.

Off topic: Doomsday is top tier? :s

The future is bleak for the online community for sure. It's numbers are as small or smaller than mk9's numbers when the game was in its death throes.

LBSH and no bullshit plz: How "dedicated" are many of you here? What exactly do you do to support your game or community outside of playing online and growing your e-peen? Because only a small handful of people are always at certain events and whatnot. Before you say "must be nice to live near a tournament scene herp derp" - There is absolutely ZERO interest in MK or Injustice where I am. I support the community as best I can by sponsoring and donating to those I might consider friends here. So I ask again: What exactly do most of you do to support your community and its games?

With continued developer support and a strong fanbase, I don't believe that's true. SF4 has more people playing it than ever. The game has so much depth, and practically every character is tournament viable... just look at the Top 8 at Evo this year! It seems that with this latest balance patch, IGAU now has a large viable roster as well - something I personally feel is key to longevity.

Is there enough depth and compelling gameplay to uncover to keep this game interesting? We'll see. I do think MK10 would instantly kill this game though, since this community only seems to play one game at a time.

I guess it comes down to what you mean by standing the test of time--like how many players? I'm sure there will always be a core group playing the game, but I don't think it will sustain through 2014. From comments and numbers people were posting, it sounds like MK has more players online than Injustice. That to me would seem to indicate it's on the downward slope. Anything could happen though--maybe it will surge in 2014.

I can almost guarantee Batman vs. Superman will cause people to pick it back up or attract new players.

more mk players is a sign, but it taking minutes to find someone on ranked then playing the same 5 people over and over and only 30 people in rooms lol idk seems pretty dead
