What's a Smarrgasm?
Another week in Atlanta, another power packed Injustice-fest from the Atlanta Kombat Krew. This week brought upon us the sixth installment of the Atlanta Kombat Arena. 16 players were in attendance this Friday to do battle in Atlanta after the dropping of the latest balance patch earlier this week.
Players were out to prove that the balance changes for the game were ready to upset the balance of the Atlanta Tournament Scene. After some intense action in the beginning of the tournament the Top 4 was settled down to Saltface and Clint in winners and Smarr and Trepound in losers.
In winners finals we had a battle of the powerhouses from the Atlanta FGC with Clint the Beast taking on Saltface. Saltface is known as the Harley of the World with his insanely high placings with two Top 8's at CEO and TFC. Clint chose to do battle pistol vs pistol by choosing Deathstroke but the patient play from Saltface saw him win 3-1 to advance to Grand Finals.
In losers, a classic battle from the MK days was gearing up with Smarr vs Trepound. Trepound is known for having his in your face hawkgirl and Smarr for his sit and wait Black Adam. The set was over before anyone knew it with Trepound taking a decisive 2-0 victory and ousting the newly nerfed dictator out of the tournament. After that, Tre seemed to be on a warpath as he entered losers finals vs Clint. The set would come down to the very end but Tre would not be denied the chance to take on Saltface and beat Clint 3-2 to advance.
In Grand Finals, Saltface and Tre were both hoping to grasp their first victory in the AKA series meaning a new champion was destined to be crowned regardless of result. Saltface has been known to dominate when focused and he started off well taking game 1 vs Tre's Nightwing. Tre would give it one more try with Nightwing but to no avail as Saltface stayed strong with the bang bang style of his Harley Quinn. In game 3, Tre would try another trick up his sleeve by picking Catwoman. It would come down to the wire but some ill advised catdashes would lead to Saltfaces victory as he was able to get good punishes and finish off the set 3-0 and claim victory in the Atlanta Kombat Arena #6!
This marks the first victory for Saltface and his Harley Quinn in the Atlanta Kombat Arena and sets the stage well for others to rise up to the challenge next week. Tune in next week for more action from Atlanta!
