Boon tweets Balance improvements/Buffs for Lex Luthor

In Europe!
The main problems I remember having with Lex Lowtier is against fast zoning (Deathstroke, Ares, Raven, etc.). I don't see how these buffs would help him in those matchups.

And am I the only one bothered by his trait design? Why are there three levels of charge when in actual gameplay there is no reason to ever do anything other then a trait into dash to get level 3 charge (which, although 'he needs it' still seems like a bug to me)?

yay more tiny tidbits of info about a patch that has been coming soon for the past month and a half, but i guess by november when it comes out casuals wont be playing anymore
so no more online :(
Would you rather they'd have said absolutely nothing since Zatanna or released a unfinished patch? Also, why are you still here? You haven't had a positive thing to say about this game in months.

I would be so happy if he got better frames/freed faster on 213
I've sort of been using 21~trait on block so I don't think that string's useless anymore. the 213 part maybe though.

Also I've been hearing that the probe thing is just a bug fix. Sometimes the probe hits them and doesn't do anything when it should.

If Ares gets ignored during this patch I'm going to considering dropping the game. I doubt he will be ignored, but I won't be happy with "buffs" that are simply bug fixes.

I'm growing tired of waiting.

21 trait works brilliantly, just used it in a game, worked great

no id rather them release the patch in a decent timeframe or tell us the patch is coming in a few months so we have an idea how long to wait or just release patch notes. i dont only say negative things about the game those are just the only things you focus on

Depends on how much time you have, and when you want to start doing something.

Actually, dash-cancelling trait only gives you enough time to get to level 2, you have to hold it sliiiiightly longer to get to level 3.

A corp charge knockdown gives you enough time for level 1 trait.

Other times you'll want to stop short at level 1 or 2 and use the time to get a probe out.

And Ares is definitely not a problem for Lex- 5/5 easily. Deathstroke is tough, but winnable. Sinestro is the only matchup that is pretty bad, but the lance charge buff will help, even if only by a small margin.

I am very excited for these buffs! Lex Luthor has been my main since the beginning & has helped me get to the top 600 players world-wide on the leaderboards, even without the update (despite the fact that many of you are likely higher on the leaderboards, it's something I am incredibly & personally proud of) - in any case, here's a list of my musings on the subject...

Lex Probe: I don't know if it would be unblockable, have better tracking, or maybe both - regardless, I'm extremely happy with it. :D

Lance Blast: I actually use Lance Blast quite a bit, particularly after hard knockdowns from a distance - the added damage is going to be a definite boon (see what I did there). The lvl. 2 & 3 versions, if timed correctly, will be great for destroying aggressive players if they're at a distance & charge in (now if only it broke through armor with a lvl. 3 charge).

Super (Coordinates Received): It's nice to hear that Aquaman can't cancel the Super with his trait anymore, because it really is a bummer to have that happen & waste all of that meter. Someone mentioned that his super should grab you much Like Sonya's X-Ray does in Mortal Kombat (that is to say, if it hits you, you'd get hit by every single following hit); I'd like that - It would really add to many of his combo strings.

Also on a side note about meter & his Super, I've never really felt a need to MB any of his moves. His Orbital Strike still knocks people down & is virtually unavoidable after a hit or block with a Lex Probe (& even allows for trait or another Lex Probe) without the MB (although the added damage is certainly nice; I also could never seem to set it up so I could get a combo off the bounce either - you guys are more than welcome to show me how to do this). His MB Lex Probe knocks opponents down making it hard to combo with so that's not really worth it, & neither is his MB Gravity Mine unless you're up close to combo off of the bounce. I usually save my meter for the Super & it has saved my life on numerous occasions against overly-aggressive players who attempt to move in for the kill.

Gravity Pull: I wish it would stun the victim for slightly longer. I find certain combos hard to chain into it such as his B2U1D1 combo.

Corp Charge: As fast as this move comes out & as good as it is as a wake-up, I think this move is perfectly balanced; the only thing I would change, if anything, is to make the Air Corp Charge safer upon landing - this would give Lex more options to close the distance safely.

Trait (Energy Shield): Out of curiosity, I wanted to ask - would you guys be willing to get rid of lvl. 1 & 2 trait for an instant lvl. 3 trait if it meant for a slightly longer cool-down time or do you prefer the way it is now with more options available to you?

For Gravity Pull, you should never be directly chaining it into a b2U1D1. It gives you less damage, and no good setup opportunities.

The timing can be a bit strict, but there is an input buffer window where you can input a b3 or f3 early before grav-pull is done, which helps alot.

Corp Charge needs to be punishable, air or otherwise. It's so fast, it's a hard knockdown, and is easily on of the best punishers in the game- gets you free level 1 shields- making it any safer than it is would make Lex completely broken an OP.

As for trait, there's zero reason to touch it. It works perfectly for Lex the way it is. Level 1 trait is not to be underestimated, it takes alot of options off the table for many characters. Damage reduction is just a small added bonus shields do. The main reason to trait up will always be the ability to glance off hit-stun.

I didn't know about the buffer window for the b3 - I'll have to try that...

I already know Corp Charge is good, I just hate how punishable it is from personal experience against good players who expect the wake-up.

As for the trait, I already know how good it is overall, but I prefer taking no damage at all & trait to lvl. 3 whenever possible.

WOW! That's it?..nothing else? No faster frames on moves? No, additional hits of armor on trait? Ed your boys are still screwing it up IMO.

The lance blast buff might be huge.

I mean, what are players going to do if an armored-up Lex ends a corner combo with a full charge lance blast? That might be guaranteed reset damage against certain characters, and depending on how much damage that full charge lance blast does, it may make Lex's corner game even more nasty.

What other decent time frame is there besides "when its done"? A week? a month? Two? Should devs not start patches that take more than two months to finish? Whats wrong with just playing or not playing the game, why is it their job to dictate how much you enjoy a thing you already bought with an update that doesn't exist yet?

And I challenge you to show me the post where you said something positive about NRS or Injustice. Find it.
