What I don't get is this..
Imagine you pick up a new game, maybe a friend convinces you to do it, it ends up being fun. It's a new community, but hey, you'll get to know them. So you work really hard and start doing well.. Keep levelling up, work on your character every day, still don't win at the top tournaments but you just shut up and keep working hard.
And then, at the biggest tournament of them all, you win.. And it's the happiest day of your life; a major accomplishment. And you get boooed, for a character that you played and worked hard on from day 1, told how boring Grand Finals were, how you're not even good and it's just who you picked; as soon as you win, instead of getting props or props mixed with criticism on the forums 75% of it is hate, and you get blown up on Youtbue, IGN, everywhere else.. You don't even get 5 minutes to enjoy it before people devalue it, and you, and spit on your accomplishment.
And then after this, when you've attempted to bury the hatchet, it's nothing but nonstop hate, snide digs on twitter, people talking behind your back, acting funny toward you in person, etc.
I'd probably be a little pissy too.
What the hell are you supposed to do? Not play your character? Play but sandbag so that other people can win? Quit the game?
Personally the community I love is really looking like a bunch of jerkfaces. It makes me sick to see it and it's going to burn future bridges for after this patch, into the next game, and the game after that. Whatever happened to honor and camraderie, and community spirit?
