What's new

Guys, I'm worried...

who cares about online records? Especially if it will be as bad as mk9. Then online holds no merit at all.
You aren't kidding. I bought MK9 recently, because it was cheap. The game is fun, but online play is crap. Most of my losses came down to my inputs either not registering at all or my moves coming out very late. It was pretty ugly. It made me feel like it was probably that way for the people I beat too.

KI is supposed to be using rollback/GGPO netcode, which is really good from what I've heard. I hope so.

If you quit, you're a sore loser lol. Admit it. You lost, now deal with the consequences. Don't want to see yourself get an Ultra done on you? Then don't let them win and do it on them. Simple as that. Quitters are quitters. No respect for them no matter what they have to go through when they have lost.

I agree. Take your defeat and ultra combo beating with class.

Spleens are overrated anyways....
Really all you have to do to eliminate ragequitting is not give players the option to the pause menu in the middle of a match, if the only way to ragequit is to reset your console then most wouldn't do it as it takes wayyyyy longer.
You raise a good point.

On a side note; since some people think that stuff like Ultra Combo finishers and Fatalities eat up too much time online, while others see it as a non-issue, perhaps in KI3/MK10 they could have specific rooms online that disabled Ultras/Fatalities? Just an idea.

If you lost you respect the winner and let him do the Ultra or whatever the hell he feels to do, because he earned it.

Perfect example at 54:09:

You can think about your mistakes or just enjoy the combo/fatality/babality/whatever meanwhile. Quitting before a match fully ended is a very childish attitude, no excuse. Be a man for your losses and your wins, but if you don't want to behave like that, go play other game suitable for your mindset and let the grown ups play.

The problem today is that the old values has been lost because of massification. If you RQed in the arcades back in the day, walking away from the machine before losing, the message you were sending was definitely not good, you know.

PS: "You", aka. anyone feeling identified with this behavior

Considering how frustrated I get watching victory screens (whether I won or lost) and seeing the same animation played out over and over again until the menu pops up for a rematch, KI will drive me fucking mental. I'll never rage quit during a match, but once it's over for fucks sake just bring up the menu to start a new one rather than sitting there doing nothing (this applies to all fighting games, not just KI which seems to be taking this to the extreme).

At home, online, on my own, I don't care about hype and I really don't care to see myself or my opponent e-wank at the end of every god-damned match.

Get on that hook

And instead display the moves list with a transparent BG. That would be really helpful.

Doing ultras/fatalities are cool and all but they are the equivalent as dancing on your head after your team has won a soccer game. Now picture it, your team wins and all of you just jump onto your heads and stick your tongues our and start dancing on your heads.

Lookin' good there

They recently added a thing that might help a bit.

A ultra cancel, it cancels the ultra with a flashy move. Like with G, he stabbs them with a giant ass ice pillar, and it looks pretty cool.

I'm sorry to say but this post is significantly irrelevant.

It proves how much #sweg you have.

Sidenote: Never played a KI in my life, probably won't play this one either but I have a question. Is KI like MK where when you win you can choose to fatality/ultra or just jab the guy and let the game end, or do you have to go through the combo?

There is no finish him type deal, you do it like an anime game, when they are low on health, it instantly kills them.
