Well Im a Online Warrior, and i want t make to do my first step in the tournament scene, since i watch nightmaresf at evo, i wanted to show my skills like him.
I wanted to use Zod in my first local tournament, But since the wraith Glitches is gonna be hard until the next patch.
So i would like to use another character like the Mid tier characters or the least seen in tournaments, but i cant decide which one i should main and have a backup character.
Thanks.
(The Second most voted i will use him or her as my Backup character.)

Get your guns on. Sheriff is back.
Shazam would be the most hype but for a backup character you may want to keep around for your Zod I'd go Bane. Zod's got wakeup issues...Bane is the polar opposite of that. Zod is mid screen to full screen tactics...Bane is in your face frame traps and pressure. Zod gets into zoning wars...Bane shoots up with drugs, takes up to 30% less damage during lvl 3 after the patch coming soon, and armors straight through zoning.

Dont get me wrong here though. I want to say Shazam because he is the hypest dude to see in tournies but if we're talking a permanent backup for Zod go with Bane. He should cover your weaknesses and flip the flow of matches on folks the most coming from a Zod match. Neither character is easy mind you. They both take patience and very good reflexes to capitalize off reads to stay in so its much the same issues with either on starting offense. Bane is just easier to get going though due to armor and his great frame traps once he's in though.

EDIT: Perhaps you should specify though what your preferred method of up close fighters are though? If you like to rush it down and overwhelm with pressure thats more Catwoman or Green Arrow. If you just like folks who are threatening up close and speedy flurry style pressure isn't necessarily how you roll then Bane and Shazam are up there because of their big damage grapples. And Zatanna is high execution mid to fullscreen stuff from what I've seen so yeah...lots of differences here.

What are your preferred playstyles? Do you work best with faster rushdown, grapplers, or mid to full screen zoning?

My playstyle is more for rushdown/grappler.
I use Zod most of the time trying to make pressure with the wraith and the low combos. Zoning is hard for me to punish with zod,
So i will need some practice with the mind games. So thats Why i put
_Green Arrow_ (rushdown/zoning)
_Bane_ (Rushdown/Grappler)
_Shazam_(Rushdown/Grappler)
_Catwoman_(Rushdown)
_Zatanna_(midscreen Zoning/ Rushdown)
Trying to make, like : "if Zod is not working against a "Batman" player, i will try to my backup character to win the match"
I was thinking in put Lex luthor but he is more a zoning character.
I have to admit it im not good zoning, i always tend to put pressure with combos or mixups.

Zod seems too good. Stick with the top tier honestly, especially if you're planning on competing. Maybe one of those other characters would make a suitable backup for any possible bad MUs Zod has.

Then yeah go with Bane. If you need help I can hook you up with some of my board's best guys on the subject. He's a frame trap guy you play patiently so expect to augment his startup on moves via shooting up with Venom and to then enjoy all the subsequent block advantage he gets off everything to suffocate and either mix them up or go for the grabs. Guy gets around 60% off a touch easily so even though it may take a bit to get used to the lack of pokes he doesn't take long to click once you watch a few good Banes and have his style and tools explained.

This is a good set of Bane vs Zod from Frosty and Pig of the Hut. Should give you a feel for Bane.
