A question for tournament players?

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this but I'm getting sick of just playing online and looking to test my skills in a touranemnt but I have a few concerns...

1) Whats the mindset I should have when competing in a tournament? I have no idea how a tournament player is suppose to think and what they do to prepare themselfs mentally.

2) How should I train for a tournament? I usually spend a couple of hours in practice mode then taking what I learn in practice and test it online against real players. Is this a good approuch?

3) Are there any age restrictions for entering a tournament? I'm sixteen, am I too young to be playing in tournaments or does age not matter?

I just want to know whats it like going to and competing in a tournament. Any help would be gladly appreciated.

1) Win at all costs. Winning is the only thing you should be concerned with. As long as its legal, use it and abuse it. Be cheap, be lame, whatever you gotta do to score the "W"

2) Practice mode is good and all and playing online is ok if thats all you have, but the real way to train for a tournament is offline casuals with other good players. Players who will push you to get better, players who are better than you. If you have the means, seek them out.

3) Most tournaments dont have an age restriction. Weve seen young kids(much younger than you) compete.

1) Mindset someone should have is "im making it to top 8" or "im taking it home" Dnt be cocky but walk with some swaggah. XD
Try and get that W. even if u have to counter pick your opponents character on game 2.

2) Practice first w/ a quick warm up. Go through your combos you knw. Once thats done see if u can experiment and find more. Find more combos, set ups, resets. DO what you gotta do. I practice 2 hrs a day or whenever i can play. Also play offline life rob said. Me and him meet up once a week on Thursday @ gamers edge and play there...on or off stream. MK online is garbage. You wont learn much from playing online

3)No age restrictions at all bro. You good.

I seem to have trouble finding players in my area for offline casuals. It just so frustrating not being able to live in a place with a scene. There is only so much you can do with this games training mode and playing online is way different than playing offline.

And kids even younger than me compete? Thats suprising.
