Okay so seriously, there's people out there who are saying "this is broke" "this is OP" and hell some are even saying "This is game breaking" Which is fine and dandy and should be taken into consideration as it pertains to obvious changes that should be made. I even made a thread that talks about damage scaling and how I'd scale damage back to make Injustice feel more "Standard" as it pertains to other fighters of the 2D niche while keeping every character in their pre-patch forms (minus glitches). My changes were pretty much a standardization of damage given known knowledge and things that are always subject to change and would diversify all the in game MUs even further. So far in terms of the "frame data nerfs" I don't think any thus far have been justified and most nerfs being called for are rather ludicrous at best.
Now as we all know every MU can't be even 5-5s across the board but a lot of people who are crying for nerfs are not crying for them after thorough testing. A lot of them call for it because
Now as we all know every MU can't be even 5-5s across the board but a lot of people who are crying for nerfs are not crying for them after thorough testing. A lot of them call for it because
"This character blew me up online"
"I can't deal with (insert move here)"
"I can't do this against this character"
(The reasons go on nearly forever.)
Now as we all know a MU is usually determined between two players of an equal level of skill. I feel as though I need to say this yet again. Equal. Level. Of Skill. Not to take a shot at any players who've made "tone this down this is BS" threads. But did you ever think that a player could simply be better than you are? We've seen what rev0lver just did with Lex at Summer Jam and we've seen what Mustard has done with Bane over seas. Now this isn't a "putting people down" thread, this is a simple translation of what I see in a language we can all understand.
Now the "dirt". A lot of people believe that MUs should be balanced to suit their ONE specific need. "I get blown up by MMH's teleport" So let us nerf that. When you can MB B3 on reaction, some characters can d2 it, and others can back dash and Full combo punish the alien Jehovah witness. However just because you can't get past something in "1 to 2 days" does NOT mean it is broken. No fighting game has instant gratification in terms of learning and exploiting MUs. We are still learning information and tech both FOR and AGAINST characters that have been here from DAY 0. MMH and others haven't been out for 2 whole months and people are crying for nerfs and what not the game is not even HALF a year old. People still develop new tech for Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and that game has been out for (lets do the math). 39.5 times longer with more players putting in serious work into their game.
No this is not a "Capcock cumguzzle post either" what I mean is back when MK1-UMK3 were around among other fighters, you couldn't just float your way to a forum and watch videos. You either labbed or you weren't in the know on any regard. Now I know it isn't all of you and as far as I know not even most of you so this is also not a "generalization of the Kommunity" post either. However some people talk about this game as if they know ever little detail about it and the current MUs are set completely in stone. Some people have even tricked themselves to believe that they play ALL of their characters at the highest possible level with nothing left to dig out. However if they made a big balance patch today and other characters shifted to top 5. Then we'd complain about those characters and if another synonymous chance took place down the line, we'd have a bunch of new things to complain about. Then the only way to circumvent this issue would be to have weekly patches that change the game so frequently we'd have no time to get used to one build of the game.
Now if something is obviously borked like Zod's Royal flame pope carpet or Zatanna not being able to grab certain intractable randomly then yes those are balance fixes that should take priority. People can complain about F23 and Super Man's lasers all day and all night in the neutral game however F23 doesn't make MUs impossible last I check. Yes some MUs may be difficult and perhaps see one sided and that's usually because some characters don't have a 1 size fits all play style.
I main Bane and I wouldn't be dumb enough to fight a Super Man the same way I fight a Cat Woman or Fight a Deathstroke the way I'd fight a Batman and given player tendencies you probably won't fight Player A's Batman the same as you'd go about breaking Player B's Batman. And there are far too many variables of the grind to be begging for balance patches so soon.
Now some may say "I saw that post in which you "complained about Superman's toolbox Black Preon. Now I'mma blow you up you HYPOCRITE. EXPOSED LAWL XD FRAUD"
To this I say re-read that post. My argument in that post was simply aligning with the fact that characters like Killer Frost / Deathstroke have been nerfed for much less. Most of the people who called for the KF and DS nerfs still to this very day get blown up by the same ole tricks that they were originally. A character isn't broken because you refuse to try something different or go outside the comfort zone. Much like how many other game genres have load outs or different selections for optimization depending on match-type/map or whatever variables another genre would have, we have characters. Given tournament rules if the first stage is the default selected stage and it happens to be "Roof top" and my opponent ops for a power character you know going into the MU that you'll be at a disadvantage if you pick a non-power character. Not saying that this game should sprout into Justify: your Counterpicking Among Us But in a game with a variable like interactables, its hard to call a MU # especially this early in a games life cycle. Also as we saw Zyphox (who said I can blow him up @ all times now). Didn't do as well as he would've liked at Summer Jam and that there was no flash witnessed at the Top 8. Are we going to start sitting here downplaying the Flash as a viable character and that he now needs unnecessary buffs? Or that Lex now needs a cavalcade of nerfs to slow him down? Some MUs may be hard, but we shouldn't be looking for 5-5's everywhere the game, some people should just take pride in winning with a character they like and feel good they put in the hard work which will make every win (big or small) just that much more satisfying.
