What's new

I would like to zone you please~

Gesture Required Ahead

Get on that hook
Martian Manhunter has:
  • Aoko style Orbs
  • Peacock remniscent overhead projectiles
  • Kenshi shoulder reversal/wakeup
  • Sektor style Telepunch to punish people jumping your projectiles
  • Ground Blasts that when meter burned have Dormammu Purification hitboxes
  • Multiple airdashes via meter usage.
  • Stupidly long Dhalsim limbs during trait. (Think Nero j.C range)
I'd say he's the most flexible (harhar trait) of the zoners out there, but he lacks an actual projectile. Instead his zoning is based on space denial and annoyance. Just another character you can try out if you want. He's a load of fun.
HA! I wasn't the only one who noticed the Aoko Orbs. You noticed Zatanna's Smoke And Mirrors are White Len's Forward and Back Dashes too?

All true but I would very much not recommend this character to a new player, he's too involved.

I think Sinestro or Deathstroke would be a good character to learn how to zone with.

Infinite Meter Kombos
Running to your side of the screen, camping and repeatedly shooting projectiles, whilst making me come to you.....
I hate that. Stay away from me please.

Infinite Meter Kombos
So that means your a ragequitter?
No. It means that I hate that style of play. Hence MK has armor moves, that beat zoning. Hence teleport beats projectile. I feel that playing those types of people are a waste of my time because I prefer kombos to projectiles.

MMH is full of so much bullshit haha

Not DS because low gun shots were nerfed. Use Sinestro or Cyborg.
Unless he's playing at a very high competitive level, Deathstroke is a very competent zoner that is hard to deal with. Those nerfs to low-gun-shots only really effect very high level competitive play.

But yes, Sinestro and Cyborg are also good choices.

I'd also add in Ares and Hawkgirl to an extent. But they're more of "hit and run then zone" then pure zoning.

** added , ohhh, and yes, someone said Zod and Raven! Great zoners! Though Zod is more setup oriented. If you want to zone with him you will have to get your hands dirty up close every now and then to make the most of your zoning ***

People shouldn't confuse zoning and keep away.

Zoning=controlling space/'zones' hence the term. That isn't to say that a keep away character cannot also be a zoner. Characters may fit under more than one archetype. A good example of a zoner is Green Lantern because he controls and excels in a very specific portion of the screen. Another zoner is Aquaman.

Keep away=staying full screen and keeping people out with projectiles. A keep away character example is Sinestro. Two others are Deathstroke and Cyborg. That isn't to say though that they don't have other tools. Deathstroke has pretty good normal and strong mix-up game. Cyborg can get set-ups off his missiles that have many purposes offensively and defensively.

OP is looking for keep away under these stricter definitions. I would recommend any of the three characters listed in the keep away section. Raven isn't a bad option either. Zatanna from what I hear is pretty lame also.

I would say Cyborg, since hes a solid zoner or keep away character or whatever u wanna call em, plus its not like hes super overplayed like Deathstroke was so u wont get tons of hate for playing him

Yo whats good Chibi, It's Lord Raptor from SRK, I get the feeling you'd really like CYborg, Martian, and Zatanna. Maybe Deathstroke but he's not Kawaii enough for you :p

I'll be messing around with everyone that's been suggested, kawaii or not :p

We'll see what I end up with lol
