Universal Anti Push block tech

There are ways to pinpoint when your opponent will push block and knowing this is important when trying to maintain pressure and the positioning. This works both mid screen and in the corner and can be dash cancelled into a traditional combo starter per character. Otherwise...this grants you massive advantage. Lets level up!

I thought this was known already; Doctrine Dark made a video showing how Bane could beat pushblock with Venom.

The problem with this is that a wrong read costs you 2 meters. And that's the problem, the read costs you more as the attacker.

Right now it's not useful in the current meta because most players still don't pushblock.

It's one of the reason why some people are against bounce cancels being reduced to only cost 1 bar of meter instead of 2.

Yeah. Try pushblocking Doomsday in trait. It's the same principle.

Pushblock is really only useful against good obvious pressure that's nigh impossible to punish. But, mostly, people just spend their meter elsewhere.

Dude, Bane's f.3 is +9, if that thing were only 1 bar you can bet our bacon I'd be throwing it out every string for no other reason than to fuck with people and get free standing 1 pressure.

IMO the better approach to both mechanics would have been like this:

-Below the Life Bar there's a Pushblock Bar. Whenever the player pushblocks the bar empties and starts regenerating slowly.
-Bounce Cancels cost 1 bar of meter, just like regular Armor Bounce Attacks.

By creating a Pushblock Bar you encourage players to use Pushblock in the first place, and consequently Bounce Cancels to counter them. The current system makes it easy for most player to overlook or forget these mechanics exist.

A little slow to the party mike! This was like week 1 tech :p
well...I looked into this because pig started pushblocking me with Grundy. Sorry if its known. Somehow I missed it cause it wasnt well advertised.

Maybe online dude...but in the offline scenes like AK it happens all the time and knowing this is a must. As a Grundy
player it happens to me off of almost every reset.

People pushblock, but not enough to make this a standard yet; tourney footage shows this. Right now it's something to go by on a player basis until the whole meta evolves.

Having said that, it will be difficult before this starts to be incorporated into every player's gameplay because of the cost. The current system makes it difficult to balance: 2 bars is too much, 1 bar is too little.

So is it unanimous? unusable in this metagame?
Not unusable per se, but right now limited to the players you know do pushblock and specific MUs where the character rarely spends meter to work (GA, Harley, WW, etc.) and will likely use the meter for pushblocking.

IIRC Bounce Cancels scale combo damage. Maybe NRS can increase the scaling even further in order to reduce the cost to 1 bar of meter. Anything to foster it's usage.

Thats a pretty cool idea with the push block bar.
Also People should keep in mind that one of the next system buffs in the next patch will be increased dmg on mb b3/f3 both raw and canceled from strings. So this could become very useful.

Really? I had no idea. That sounds like a nice system change.

It's only useful when you know a pushblock is coming, unfortunately...and the cost is just too much, unless you are capable of converting b3/f3 for like 40%.

It's not really great on a consistent basis.

If that happens then my life will become so much easier.

Neat, where did you hear this? Paulo randomly say it in a stream chat?
