[POLL] Who would you rather have as DLC?

I voted Poison Ivy. She was one of the ones I was hoping for before IGAU even came out, in the pre-release hype. I'd still like her in. Partly, I'd like to see more female characters. Partly, I like classic characters. When I was young, I had a bedspread/pillow case set that had a group shot of DC Heroes on one side and DC Villains on the other. Most of the classic heroes, like Batman, Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, etc., are in the game. Most of the classic villains, except for Joker, Lex, and Catwoman, are not. Poison Ivy was one of the classic villains. To me she is an iconic DC Comics villain. She's been in the movies and TV, just a classic figure. Stop someone on the street and ask them about Atrocitus, Dr. Fate, Power Girl, or Black Canary, and most people won't know who you are talking about. Everyone knows Poison Ivy though. Plus, I like the new direction they took with her, making her a kind of extreme eco-terrorist, that is kind of cool. So, yeah, Poison Ivy for me. It is my vote, and that's who I voted for.

Also, I don't care about the 'too many Batman' characters argument at all. Primarily because just about every villain in the DC universe has fought other heroes at some point. Ivy was part of a super villain group that clashed with the Justice League. Maybe she is primarily associated with Batman, but not exclusively.

I feel like the problem here is that almost none of you guys have ever read Swamp Thing. The majority of the requests seem to be for characters that were in cartoons.

But that's the thing... Characters with some mainstream exposure are much more likely to get in. Which is whatever, there's nothing you can do about that. But when 60% of the general populace would get this and go, "What, who the hell is Swamp Thing?" and wouldn't buy it... That's DC's fault for not promoting him in more stuff, not anybody else's.

Agreed. However, Swamp Thing is known as one of the best comics of all time and one of the best current series. It just so happens that a lot of the FGC is into cartoons.

i didnt lol i actually called half her moveset, i really dont know why people said RH would be a clone but thought she would be original. RH is expected to be a clone by everyone so nrs would have to make extra sure he isnt

having another hero doesn't exclude a villain, but if Swamp Thing is in, it's unlikely there will be Poison Ivy or vice versa... or with Zatanna in Dr. Fate is very unlikely now...
even if we follow DLC pattern or overall female count (1/4 in both IGAU and MK9) I think another female is not likely too

seeing how Zatanna ended up with having trance, Sonya's kiss, KL hat....
Atrocitus to me comes across as most MK like character so I wouldn't be too much surprised if he somehow ends up in this

Im still holding out for the possibility that she still makes it in. When Boon was asked about her playstyle on his twitter some weeks back, his response seemed........a tad hintful maybe? But who knows. Not getting my hopes up too much lol

I didn't say they were the BEST END ALL BE ALL. I'm saying given the expansiveness of the dc universe the characters that we get are just lame. Batgirl, zatanna, lobo? I just don't see the appeal I guess.

The Scarecrow, i know how much everyone dont like to have more Batman related characters in IGAU, but the only way i think the scarecrow will fit in a fighting game is for what ive seen in the starlabs mission where he appear using his fear gas to reverse controls, make everything slow etc. I know this would make this character broken or even banned from tournaments but a fighter who use drugs to win a match well i dont know exactly how will fit in IGAU but any way is just a thought.

I don't expect Red Hood to be a clone at all... He's different from Deathstroke, Nightwing, Batgirl and Batman. More like all four put together. I just would rather have someone other than a Batman universe character dewd. There are plenty of cool characters outside the Batman universe.

Yea.. I felt the same way...but NRS can make any character look and play well. So I don't mind those characters as much but yea I would much rather have others. Dr. Fate and Black Manta were two I wanted really bad.

That's totally fine man. Just the way you went about saying it earlier made it seem like there was no way anyone could find those characters to be worthy or interesting. Basically, if they've officially been on the Justice League at some point, or been on a TV show/movie by DC, they're "worthy". It's my humble opinion that if the studio is good, which NRS is, they can make a fighting game character out of just about anybody here, and it can turn out well. I like the character, but even if you don't, I don't see how you can look at Zatanna's gameplay and not say they did well implementing her. Hell, I HATE that Batgirl got in, of all people, but they did a good job of making her as a character in the game.
