Perfect Legend: Stock up. Let's start with the bad. Once again Carl went to the Caribbean and had a bad weekend in MK. The week before he declares Kabal is broken and needs to be banned on TYM only to be sent to losers by Kitana, who he now claims beats Kabal. He then gets into top 8 losers only to be defeated immediately by none other than Chris G. I still haven't wrapped my head around this. Almost a week later and typing out Chris G beats PL in MK is surreal. However luckily for Carl this is a two game world now and he had a chance to redeem himself, which he did by winning IGAU and beating the EVO Champion KDZ and Christopher G.
Chris G: Stock up. I have long had a MK rule of thumb that Chris G was the ultimate gate keeper. You can tell if a tournament was a real stacked major by Chris g's placing. However that seems to have been turned on it's head by Chris G defeating Carl 2-0 at VXG. I don't know what the fuck is going on here but I guess I have no choice but to pardon Cat, CD Jr, Blake and anyone else that's recently lost to Chris G. They're now off the hook. It's safe to lose to Chris G again. It is a shame Chris G was DQed from his MK pool at EVO because we now can wonder how well he'd have done if he played. In IGAU Chris G had his usual top 3 finish, in the end getting bodied by Carl's Doomsday. Speaking of doomed over in Capcom land Chris and Flocker apparently doomed the entire FGC but since the stock market only covers NRS titles it is not my place to speculate on how this effects Chris G's overall FGC stock.
KDZ: Stock neutral. Follows in Carl's footsteps by winning EVO only to get bodied at da beach a couple of weeks later. KDZ looked off all weekend, dropping half his combos and having close matches the entire tournament. Too much partying at the beach with EMP overlord Triforce? He was there in St. Martin a week earlier, celebrating his EVO victory with the Bobby Heenan of the FGC.
GGA Dizzy: Stock up. Wins his 3rd major, redeeming himself from a disappointing EVO and coming home with a whole bunch of Caribbean e-sports money. Unlike the rest of us dorks in the MKC Dizzy went to da beach as an actual vacation, bringing his girlfriend and spending most of his time away from games. The fact that he still won MK and did this means he was ultimately the biggest winner of the tournament.
GGA Wafflez: Stock up. Places top 8 in both games, with a strong 3rd place finish in MK and nearly beating KDZ twice in IGAU. Tommy has finally proven he is good at IGAU and everyone constantly giving him shit has to hold dat. However inside the hallowed ground of GGA and Tony's diner Tommy is still on blast, now being blown up daily for downplaying Green Lantern and for losing the Kitana vs. Smoke MU.
GGA 16 Bit: Stock neutral. I placed second in MK only losing to Dizzy(as always) and beating Carl for the 3rd time in a row, which sent Carl into a salt fueled rant about how it should have been 3/5, despite the fact that he was playing the advantage MU and the momentum had clearly swung in my favor. I will never get Carl to admit I'm capable of outplaying him in MK. In IGAU I placed 9th(as always). I have become the Bone of IGAU. Despite being emo and angry at the time I've sense calmed down and realize this isn't so bad. At least switching to my beloved Catwoman has only meant I get bodied as bad as I did with KF and I'm not getting bodied worse.
Pr Balrog: Stock neutral. Once again sneaks into the top 8 only to get bodied by rooftop Black Adam. After getting eliminated a salty Rog declared he was dropping the game but later calmed down and said he'd be using Batgirl. Will remain the top KF unless Khaotik can avoid Black Adam and make something happen at Summer Jam.
Warchild: Stock up. The sole caribbean player in the top 8, this guy impressed early by taking Carl to the limit and pools. In the top 8 he put on one of the most bizarre displays of poor decision making I've ever seen in a tournament match, spamming that Fortress portal interactable over and over again anytime he was near it. It was like there was an XP challenge to use it 5 times in one match and he was obsessed with leveling up his profile. The craziest thing about this situation was that he went on to win that match against KDZ.
Curbo: Stock down. It's odd when you can place top 8 in both games and still have a disappointing showing but that's what can happen when your training partners hype you up as the favorite to win the MK tournament. Young Dominic must now have second thoughts about selling his Johnny soul to go to the Kabal darkside. On the other hand he did get a free trip to a caribbean island with no drinking age so he must be the coolest kid in school back home.
CD Jr: Stock up. Has his best MK showing since NEC last year, bringing back Jax and crushing DJ L Toro's dreams. In IGAU he debuted his new main, The Flash. Even though he got his back utterly blown out in the top 8 he can still claim to be the most successful Flash to date, which is sure to get under the skin of Zyphox and AK Harold. On the subject of Harold, if Pig is right and this guy is going to body folks at Fall Classic I hope he comes up with a better handle. Why is an asian guy named Harold anyway?
