What are the fundementals of Injustice?/ Multiple characters?

FGC_Chukz

When's Injustice?
Just a quick question as I like to be able to learn more than just one character as I would like to be proficient with a select few of the cast.

I would like to be able to use characters like Scorpion, Zod, Batgirl, Flash, Doomsday etc in addition to the Supeaj that I am mainly right now.

So this is kind of a two parter, but essentially I want to lean the fundementals of the game and what would you guys saying the key to learn new characters are? (and if there should be a limit)

Thanks!

Honestly just get used to the movement because this game is very awkward at first.
As for learning new characters it's the same as any other fighting game, look at the forum, training mode for a little while then jump into some matches.

What a day. What a lovely day.
One of the biggest things you can do is to learn the reach of your character's moves. So much in this game is safe that it becomes incredibly important that you make sure not to whiff any attacks and/or know what you can punish a whiffed attack from your opponent with.

This x 1000. Range is everything, especially given everyones' armored options and their exploitable weaknesses.

Other than what has been said, learn your jump arcs with each character your use.

Learn strings that you can interrupt with a mb b3 or f3.

When and where to use interactables.

The fundamentals are awkward and down right silly at times. The footsies are dominated by Supes, rushdown by flash, and zoning by several. This game is about utilizing your characters strengths to create punishes, 50/50's, or ambiguous set ups. The footsies is rather lacking say vs SF4 or KOF. The AA options aren't huge say VS all other 2d fighters. A lot of stings and special moves are worthless, but some can be used in combo. This is a step down fundamentally if you were part of the FGC before, but a good stepping stone to understanding fighting games and you can learn basics and a faster rate due to the lower learning curve. All fighting games have their flaws and this one is included. Check out http://mgcradio.blogspot.com/ A lot of fighting games are going to be discussed there by seasoned experienced vets, and Injustice fundamental woes have been discussed already, with more to come about IGAU.

Spacing, patience, and watch tons of vids to find answers to every chsracter's dirt. Combo basics: optimal midscreen (and how to get them with low/overhead starters), 1 corner combo, 1 antiair. And even though this system technically doesn't have dps, learn when to respect wakeups as reversals.

The best way to learn the fundamentals of this game is to learn 2 or 3 characters that are extremely different from each other.

Sometimes you get so caught up in what makes your character unique and awesome, you forget the other less obvious parts of their game plan.

Switch to another character focuses on what that character ignores.

When playing Luthor, my shields and super-long-reaching pokes (giggity) allowed me to get away with knowing both nothing about footsies. I picked up Scorpy and I was forced to learn that to survive, and my Lex is all the better for it.
Likewise, my poor mobility and massively vulnerable hitbox with Lex forced me to get really good at blocking crossups against characters like Batman and Joker... I hate to brag, but now its pretty dam hard for a Batman to land a j2 on me :)

The fundamentals:
Crossups and blocking them.

Walk/block/walk/block up to strong zoners

Footsies and pokes

Baiting and punishing (basically, dash towards a downed enemy as if your going to attack, which encourages a wakeup that you block and punish)

Learn frame advantage, know after what moves hit or miss allow either you or your opponent to attack or block next.

When's Injustice?
I just wanted ti get away from being an f23 fraud may pick up Scorps and Batgirl since I can vortex and won't be able to rely on lazers+F23.

Landing hits with strings is so awkward rather than hit confirming in Capcom games. Should I just focus on one character or multiple?

My biggest problem is defense and punishing, it seems like every damn string is safe lol. If icoulni actually punish people and had an easier time to start offense I would have an easier time. Thanks again.

I would say patience and spacing.

I only really use two characters, Ares and Lobo. While its easier to win with Ares, I like the added challenge of using and winning with Lobo.

I now know why everyone complains about walkspeed and F23. Walk speed crawls and most strings have piss range, wow.

Patience definitely, since I will be using Batgirl.

Ares and Lobo in particular have really slow walk speeds.

Something im a bit bugged out about is the dashing in the game. You literally cant do anything until the dash completes its animation which kinda annoys me.

Pick the character you like and do whatever it takes to win with it. The only "frauds" are people who only bitch about things and can't get results themselves.
I wasn't bitching a character with more mixup options is better suited for me, hence why Im playin another character. I have only had the game for 2 weeks.
